I wasn't that good either. Give it a week and you'll be doing a lot better, still not a pro but you won't cringe every time you drive it. lol Where in the NW burbs? I'm in Libertyville.

Buffalo grove. I talked to my buddy who recently got a 3 series in stick and had to learn it. So we're going to the local high school parking light tonight. It's been in my parking lot for 2 nights all lonely. Hate being busy 6 am to 8 pm :/

The best trick is to learn where the clutch engagement is. Keep your foot off the gas in the clutch pedal depressed. Put your car in first and slowly ease off the clutch until you feel it start to grab and hold it there. Your car will actually start to move.

If you can move your car around parking lot without using the gas, I guarantee you will drive out of the parking lot.

I know that, but I heard a few times that it's okay on most manual cars, but not on the brz because it wants to get more gas?

I've done it just fine in my FR-S. When I went for my test drive I told the guy from the dealership I was rusty on stick so he guided me over to a nearby industrial park and had me do exactly this to get the feel for the clutch engagement.

Only non-subaru parts that I know of are front body panels and headlights/taillights. So far everything I've done on engine/suspension is 100% subaru. Some interior bits might be different as well, but the major "consumables" are subaru

I purchased my 2013 FR-S 10 Series on August 6, 2014, but I just saw this thread now. I really like the car and was in this section of the forums looking for recommendations on a tuning shop in the near west suburbs - feel free to chip in if you think you can help me.

I'm in Clarendon Hills (just west of Hinsdale). After I posted the message above I did a search and it looks like P&L Motorsports and Touge Factory are recommended, but P&L Motorsports is a little closer. People say good things about them and I just need to install a short shift kit, transmission and subframe bushings, and change fluids.

Thanks for the reply!

So I got it figured out after an hour in an empty parking lot. Still not smooth but it'll take time. I'll have pics in a few days

Bushings are pretty easy. I didn't like the short shifter I had, it rattled constantly.

Anybody have Techstream or know anyone who does? I want to disable the lock/unlock beeper and the passenger belt beeper.

If not, eBay here I come!
