none of those cars got worse year to year, only from generation to generation. When the next generation brz comes (it won't be for a long time) you will have plenty of notice to buy the current one if you think the car is going to get ruined.

No this topic is all wrong, OP should buy FRS because BRZ doesn't have 4WD and turbo.

For reference, All of our recent Factory Orders are now showing an April ETA. This goes against what my Distribution Office stated months ago (about specific orders) but it's also fairly in-line with when they described the MY change over.
Does this mean that recent orders may be coming in as 2014 MY?

I placed my order 2 weeks ago, and it seems odd that I would be accepting delivery of a vehicle I didn't order (I ordered the 2013 MY BRZ, and it should be slated for April arrival at port). I probably wouldn't mind getting the more recent MY, but it simply isn't what I ordered.

Yes and No. There really is no rhyme or reason as to how Subaru is delivering these cars.

By "recent" I mean within several months time. Orders within a months time will probably come in as 2014MY vehicles unless they have some kind of miracle ramp-up of production.

I can't say anything about your specific factory order. Your car could come in between here and the end of April or it could come in 9 months from now. There is no way for me to know.

It's weird, unpredictable, and quite frankly, annoying! I was trying to time my order right so I'd have enough money saved... My rep told us it would be 3-6 months. I ordered a Limited thinking I'd have some time, and it came in 1 month. Thankfully they were able to sell the order to someone else and now I've got one coming in the next allocation. Watch, now it won't come for 8 months!

Yep, that's just like my story.

I ordered a car (SWP LTD 6AT) for one of my customers. Then prolly more than a month later, after I went to the ride/drive and fell in love with the car. I ordered mine to the same specs with more Accessories. I was thinking that I would be in the second Allotment of vehicles that would begin from December onward.

It went from about 4 months out, to 8 months out, to 2 months out and was delivered in about one month? While my customers car took over 6 months to arrive?

It came in way before I had any of my parts on hand.

There is just no way to figure out how they are shipping these cars.

Yeah but the FRS only has like 200 hp. That's nothing.

For me personally, I am probably going to wait. Only because I need to be smart here. I have an EVO X that's going to be paid off soon and I hope the depreciation rate is slower than how fast I am paying it off. (currently, i can get about 10K equity).

If buy this car now (and trust I want to do so bad), then I'm going have to 20k loan. And it's like I'm starting all over. This partially has do to with the fact that taxes suck and I have pay like 4K (fees + taxes). It's smarter to come back with a plan.

Let's also consider than it's march and eventually it will be a year. Considering the depreciation rates of new cars, if I can patiently wait 6-9 months (paying down my loan, not really using my car (since I will be riding a motorcycle in the summer)), I can maximize my down payment (hopefully 15K), and get a good 6k-8k used BRZ limited.

That's hopefully the plan. If all works out well, i'll only need a 7K loan. And that would be awesome. Just like when I bought my EVO. I bought it 8K below new price and it only had 4K miles. I don't drive enough to need it right now and new.

the only reason I want it now is that they are fairly rare and I want to be one of the select few to have them. There is some satisfaction to my misery and worthless life. LOL.

I bought now because... I want the car now. The color I wanted came in so I went for it. It's always possible to get a better price or a newer model, but then you don't get the joy of driving and owning now. You won't live forever. I'll just wait awhile to upgrade with a turbo or supercharger. I'm not yet happy with the current aftermarket development. There aren't even cams and pistons available, let alone crankshafts and so on. Until that's all sorted out, I want to watch the show.

Its funny, because the chirping and the weird rattle from the back both disappeared on their own.
