If I'm not mistaken (but I totally could be) the 1320 has potential for greater power, but to get to that level as a differentiator you're already fully built with supporting mods etc.

That's where I looked at the intake and the aesthetics and it just made more sense. Again, intake design is negligible at my power levels but it could certainly make a difference later down the road.

In short, both kits will get you where you wanna go if you're not looking at MAX, MAX power etc, but I think in the long-run the Harrop is the better solution. I felt like I could live with that and have no regrets whereas the Cosworth had some niggles for me.
I am looking for OEM reliability and not looking for more power. Actually the 260hp and 210lb-ft is perfect for what I need.

The only issue I had with Harrop is that it doesn't fit the 2018 stock intake box per Harrop Australia. I like the look on the Harrop as well as it does look OEM.

If I had to purchase the stock intake box, the price for the cosworth is closer to the Harrop one.

Thanks again!

You’re right where I am then on everything.

Also consider that you can add an aftermarket intake. I think Harrop was screwing around with one with the kit on their dev car.

Have you checked out The Racer's Line website? They have the Harrop kit listed for $4825 (not including shipping) so that saves you a few hundred. I'm sure you could contact them on the shipping price since you live in Canada. I'm not sure how much the stock front portion of the intake would cost, but you could probably find it stupid cheap from someone local versus purchasing new from a subaru parts site.

It looks more attractive overall than the Cosworth. And while I love the R&D Matt and Cosworth have done, it is another option. As well, at the time I had bought my Cossie kit (on my previous FRS) the Harrop hadn't been released yet.

I had the Harrop, Edelbrock, and Cosworth on my radar. I wanted the immediate throttle response of a positive displacement blower.

I chose the Harrop because the Edelbrock was taller (instructions say to remove the hood liner) and I didn't like the styling compared to the Harrop. The Harrop fits with some strut bars. I had read (unverified) that the Harrop intercooler is a bit more efficient with the dual heat exchangers. The Harrop at the time required less work to fit the 2017s compared to the Edelbrock. The Cosworth was unappealing because of the rear intake routing and the smaller rotor pack mean a bit more heat for a given airflow. I also didn't care for the elitist image that Cosworth sometimes comes with. The Harrop crate is also a great place to store your OEM parts for the eventual part-out.

I would absolutely recommend and purchase the Harrop again. By all means try to drive and inspect the others though.

I have had ZERO issues in 15K miles. I don't even run Flex fuel, as 91 on a street driven car is just fine for me. E85 is scary quick in anything but a straight stoplight drag.

Just for comparison, I bought the Harrop kit, Delicious EcuTek kit and tune, Delicious Flex Fuel kit, DW injectors and fuel pump. I bought through Neil at The Racers Line. The total was just about $8000 including California sales tax and shipping.

To that I added:
Used fuel basket and preassembeld the fuel pump to make the install go faster on install day.
New OEM pre-2017 fuel rail covers (2017 needs a bit of modification or leave them off.
New OEM pre-2017 rear air box half (Harrop provides a custom front half that fits the early models).
Used throttlebody (Harrop modifies the throttlebody). I wanted to keep my original intact.

Hope this helps.

People throw away their stock intakes... you should be able to find someone around you who is willing to basically give you one... I wouldn't consider that part of the price. I think my buddy paid someone with a 6-pack of beer for a '13 intake when putting his Harrop kit on his '17.

Not advocating any vendor, but this is what you need for a 2017+ manual trans (red intake manifold) vehicle.

The question I have is are Harrop going to make any revisions for the 17+ models? Also saw someone mention shaving part of the charger to clear the alternator ?

That was me.

I am not sure if Harrop is going to officially support the later models, but my guess is they will eventually. For them it will be a simple change in CNC programming to change the profile of the casting.

My solution was 15 mins with a Dremel and a quick shot of black paint.

I’m interested in the Harrop kit because it looks so OEM. I like the lower center of gravity and how it looks like a v6/v8. Functionally, I like the front intake, and it also looks better. The larger blower is better because less effort/spinning/heat is involved. I also wanted a flat torque curve and low end torque over a centrifugal SC; I do like to wind up the engine and work for the power on this NA motor, but I would prefer the lower end, usable torque for everyday driving and instant response.

At the time of purchase, the USD was very strong against the AUD, bringing the price much lower than the Cosworth kit.

The lower COG and stock appearance form factor caught my eye and made significant waves in the local car shows as well as when popping the hood at track events.

I had already purchased ECUTek for the PTuning header, so a new tune was significantly cheaper. I actually recommend anyone interested in getting more usable power to purchase this unit so long as they are not crazy high altitudes (~5k); that being said, the PD layout still allows you to enjoy more power than NA at those altitudes without risking overheating vs a turbo.

e85 flex fuel tune by Moto-East makes this setup with an el header crazy fast and torquey to the point where you will only want to get on it at the track or at a roll.

I can go sideways on e60 at 50ft elevation from a stop with 245 mpss slipping the clutch. I havent dared get on it at my new residence due to cold weather and still running the same tires.

Wasn't sure it would all fit for a while, but stayed with it and jigsaw puzzled it.

Another reason I'm glad I chose the Harrop. Everything needed to return to stock in the Harrop crate.
