This looks fun! - 2017 Fiat 124 Spider

The one and only real roadster I've ever owned was a 1957 MGA. Restoring and driving it was a complete blast. That being said, I had a friend in high school who had a Fiat 124 Spider that I used to love riding in. the 124 Spider is back for 2017 and looks really interesting - as if I need a car even smaller than my FR-S.

Specs look interesting, too. A turbo 1.4L in-line 4, 160HP but 184lbs.-ft of torque. Haven't seen the weight yet, but can't be much more than a Miata I wouldn't think...

And the base model price (yes, there are actually different trim levels!) is $24,995.

Oh, and the commercial is awesome - taking up where the Fiat 500 ad left off:

I grew up with MGs and Triumphs. I drove one of the old Fiat Spiders once. Being accustomed to the long footwells in British cars, the Spider seemed like it was built for someone with miniature dwarf legs.

I wonder if the new one is designed for people with dwarf legs also.

Good point. The MGA had lots of leg room. I would hope that the fact the original 124 sold about 70% in the U.S. that Fiat would take that into consideration. I have no intention of getting rid of my FR-S, but I would like to drive the new 124. My wife might end up "needing" one.
