P2109 Help

Hello,

Was wondering if anyone has any tips to assist with P2109 code.

Car is a 2016 BRZ w/ 2,000 miles. Just installed a JDL Turbo Kit. Car is not tuned yet.

Car is throwing P2109 Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor "A". Cars CEL & Traction Control light are lit up, and can't rev above 2k RPM. I've tried resetting the battery, tried the throttle body relearn procedure, triple checked connections on MAF, MAP, and Throttle Body, No damaged wiring found.

Any suggestions?

Tune the car. You can't just throw a turbo on it without a tune specifically for that kit and expect it to behave normally.

Spoke with tuner, and he advised that code is not normal to see.

I would still not run that car without a proper base tune. Get the tune flashed then troubleshoot so you're only dealing with 1 issue.

On a side note, don't you have bigger problems to worry about? Like Irma... unless you're not actually in Orlando right now!

This isn't my first boosted car.

In Orlando, but we wont start feeling the effects until around 2am.

Well alrighty then. The only other suggestion I have is to visually check to make sure the throttle plate is moving properly and not stuck on something. Good luck with the storm.

Thanks.

Not stuck on anything. With car off, in accy and pedal to floor the TB clicks, and never opens though.

The only other thing I can think of is to carefully inspect the connector to make sure you are getting a good connection when you plug in the throttle body connector. Sometimes the female side gets stretched out just enough to not make good contact. Maybe put slight downward and/or upward pressure on the plug to see if your symptoms change. I had similar issues with my OBDII port connection. Can also try tapping on the TB motor area while someone is working the pedal.
