LJ has good customer service, that's why I purchased the FBM kit too. I'll send you an e-mail later on today.

That is impressive screwing up the threads in an iron housing. I would always connect the downpipe to the turbo before trying to connect the downpipe to the overpipe.

Yep. I thought it was going in, until I realized it was completely sideways
I didn't have either side tight I went back and forth to tighten them incrementally since it wasn't fitting and the overpipe connected smoothly, but the turbo not so much.

I know a lot of people smoothly install this kit, but I was not as lucky as I faced a problem with the supplied fuel pump, the downpipe fitment and being sent the wrong intercooler piping. Also the brass oil tee that feeds the turbo had damaged threads when it arrived. So glad it all worked out in the end though

Yes I came very close to doing this myself before I backed off and, like @kingtut said, connected the turbo side first. Then I had to force it onto the overpipe, which rubs on the sway bar now, shoves the entire exhaust into the frame/body of the car and rattles against it when I close the door too hard. Even the shop I brought it too couldn't line it up any better.

I had issues with my tee fitting as well and ended up rethreading one end I believe. Sorry to hear about the fitment issues you guys are seeing. It took a little work, but I got all my pieces to line up perfectly:

Full Blown 3" Downpipe
JDL 2.5" Overpipe
JDL 2.5" Frontpipe
Greddy Evo3 Exhaust

I e-mailed LJ this weekend, and I got an e-mail back from him on Sunday, and a call from him today. The customer service is why I know I will keep going back to him in the future. He does legitimately want to make everything right.

Hey guys, im having a hard time finding a thread about the AEM tru-boost install guide on our particular cars. I was reading the install guide on the AEM website and was wondering why they had the setup the way they did. I wanted to have a better understanding of that setup for external wastegates as to why they have the turbo housing going to the boost solenoid as well as the bottom side of the wastegate and the other side of the solenoid going to the top side. If someone wouldnt mind explaining this for me i would greatly appreciate it!

The hose running to the bottom of the wastegate will operate the same way as if you weren't running a solenoid. It is going to leave the wastegate closed until the boost reference gets to the spring pressure which will start opening the wastegate. The solenoid needs to see the same boost reference so that it can then apply pressure to the top of the wastegate to prevent it from opening at the spring pressure thus allowing you to control boost pressures higher than the wastegate spring. Note that the solenoid can't keep boost levels lower than the spring in the wastegate.

Some gasket maker should seal that right off just great 👌! Haha just kidding, but in all seriousness, i think they sent you the wrong size for your current exhaust.

Did you get a 3" exhaust from them? You'd need a 3" over pipe or however wide your exhaust is. Give them a call tomorrow during their business hours, they have great customer service and sure they can sort something out for you!

No I didn't order their exhaust but either way the stock overpipe should fit if I'm not mistaken.

Is it the connection at your midpipe thats not fitting or on the other side of the over pipe?
