Very very good! Love them!! They dont last long if you drift alot on a chinook day (calgary weather thing where it gets to like +10C in winter and melts the snow) On ice and packed snow they are crazy awesome. They are very soft though.

Yeah the "Indian summers" in the Midwest during winter are one of my main concerns, but more concerned about not ending up horizontal on a vertical street

TBH if you drive like normal they last a while. I think they are the best bang for the buck winter tire for sure. I run them on the front still but I use x-ice on the back (not as good) just so I dont have the change my driving habits haha!

I use WS-80s in the winter here, and they perform very very well.

Even went and did rallyx on a frozen lake, and the tires were fantastic. If you need winter tires, get WS-80s.

Look up the Sports Car Club of LaCrosse for ice racing. They do it in the middle of a frozen lake up in northern Wisconsin. So much fun. I'll be out there again this year in my FR-S.

If you're looking for tires, I may actually be selling my 215/45/17 WS-80s from last year (still have tons of life left in them), and buying some 16" winter wheels and tires for this year.

One more vote for WS-80's being fantastic winter tires.
I put a set on my BRZ and drove through the Rocky Mountains from Seattle WA to Edmonton AB last winter. Did great in sub freezing temps, snow, ice, freezing rain and everything in between going over the passes.

Blizzaks are my first choice for winter tires, and have been for a long time. I've run a set of WS-60s on my FR-S for the last 3 winters in the snow belt of Southern Ontario Canada, and they've been great. I'm surprised by how good this car is in the white stuff with the right tires. I will be replacing them with a set of WS-80s this year.

I installed the 16 inch rims with 16 inch blizzak ws80 winter tires last sunday. Temperature is around my area are low 30s to high 50s at the moment, so the tires will maximize its performance during colder days and snow..

Frist impressions, Blizzak ws80 are noisy! It gets so annoying sometimes.

Also, i have noticed that the car feels different, like it does not feel as fun as with my 17 inch STI wheels and primacy summer tires. (Im not sure why..)

Keep in mind that this tires are fat! Makes sense since tires needs more threat on snow, but IMO it does not look as good compare to my thin profile primacy tires.

Obviously, this tires are meant for cold freezing days and snow days, so i will see the full advantages on having them throughout the winter.

I will post some pics of how my car looks within the next few days.

fat? as in wide? Then on ice/snow on contrary, better to have them narrow for more pressure per (smaller) contact patch.
