Hey @PMok It's good seeing you today!
Here's my last run for the day, nothing spectacular, kinda slow but it was fun.

Here's the last session on Laguna Seca from the other weekend. Enjoy.

I have a Nikon D5000 with a 70-300mm lens. Amateur level stuff.

yeah it was quite a mix, fun day. I'm not sure on the open wheelers and the kart. There were several different ones including this one with the kid. What was funny was there was this guy (coach? father?) chasing the kid across the course, yelling words of encouragement the whole way.

Nice pictures, but it makes me want to race. I may have to drive down from Montana to enter some of your races!

How are you guys ranking in CS finishes? Are you competitive against say Miatas? PAX really helps stock classes too.

the results are up on the website, I don't want to draw any conclusions from seeing the one event but FRS/BRZs are making a respectable showing.

hey @zeviance too bad I missed your runs but if you look on the baautox forums they have some pics of you...

Regarding competitiveness: I agree with PMok, you can't really draw conclusions based on one local event. Most top-level drivers see the car as a midpack finisher in CS, behind the Solstice ZOK and the MX-5 MSR -- both of which are "trunk kit" cars with stiffer springs, bigger sway bars, etc. (At one point both of those cars were to be moved to another class.)

The SFR results are a bit misleading. The folks running CS were actually on race rubber, and the folks running T1 were on street tires. The times aren't necessarily comparable; the race-tire folks *should* be about a second for so faster on that course, all else equal.

UFO has a facebook page that they post updates to, that's where I found the information about the cancellation. You can find it here in the future:

https://www.facebook.com/NorCalUFO

Hopefully Marina gets them the permit they need to host these events, but look forward to signing more waivers before you enter the grounds next time.

I know this thread looks like a SCCA group, but I enjoyed a weekend of driving at Sonoma Raceway with NASA. Car was a blast on track, I was very impressed with the car. Best lap times were in the 2:10-2:11 range on stock tires.
