They need to get the new WRX engine into the twins like...yesterday.

It's the same general architecture and any packaging issues and such with that engine can't possibly insurmountable. Plus they get economies of scale by sharing the engine across both platforms.

No brainer really.

Notice how the redesign for twin cam engine in 1991 netted a 25k DECREASE.

No guarantee that a refreshed FRS/BRZ will result in an increase in sales!

Thanks for the update Go!

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say the changes will be minor.

-Front and rear fascia changes
-Maybe BHLH
-Interior changes
Gauge color changes
-Release Series
Retire some colors and introduce newer colors; hopefully a nice yellow.

Realistically , I think 20hp, and 15 more tq is fine.

and maybe shed 100lb.

It'll be cool if they replace the speedometer with a fuel temperature gauge and other fancy toys.

Well it depends on the model Once you start loading the WRX (non-STI) with goodies it easily hits $32K.

A turbo Limited BRZ would easily hit $32K I suspect. I am sure they would have to modify the FA20 in the WRX to fit the BRZ, and then there is a host of other changes you would most liklely have to make to support the additional horsepower and torque and still maintain the warranty.

I really think Subaru and Toyota should just offer this motor even if it moves the price in the $30K+ range loaded MSRP. For one reason it will silence critics. For another reason there are many people that want a factory turbo and a warranty and would be willing to pay for it.

Winner winner chicken dinner.

Shedding weight & other gauges instead of speedometer have been discussed between Moto-san & Tada-san. Tada-san like the different gauge idea... Question is, is it possible to upgrade w current model

Maybe replace it with a LCD screen. I'm sure it won't be expensive if its mass produced. Tells oil temp, water temp, battery voltage.
All in 1.
