dont hate me for asking.. weight?

ok ive searched google and this site, but does anyone have a clear definition of the differences between us gross weight and European gross weight?

the car is 2600lbs gross in Europe, in america that means fully loaded with a couple people and some luggage, soooo...
if that similar to Europe's definition of gross weight?

i mean if thats right the car could come in around 24xxlbs dry right?

picture is from the Geneva thread posted recently

ridicule me if ya want as long as its a clear answer

I keep hearing 2760+

I don't think it's going to be 2400 without some important bits missing.

7 second 0-60, lol.

Curb weight varies from place to place. Dry weight is NO fluids at all. The stripper model is just under 2700 curb, so I wouldn't expect anything much lighter than that weight minus a full gas tank.

0-100km = 0-62 mph, so if its 6.9 seconds to 62 mph, it should be a couple tenths less to get to 60. In any case, isn't this what we were expecting for this car?

You're right. I guess it should be 6.7 sec 0-60.

Somebody has screwed up.

The JDM 86 RC aka "The Stripper" has an official weight of 1190 kg; the JDM 86 GT Limited is 1220 kg. Japan has less stringent crash standards than Europe... so how did the GT86 lose 40kg (~88 lbs.)?

Certainly wouldn't mind, but stoplight drag-racing isn't really my thing.

Dry weight. No fluid and adult driver.

So... this car weighs within 50 lbs of a lotus exige? Pardon my doubts but I find that a little hard to believe. I guess if it's official numbers then I'm more than happy, I don't see how it can be that slow if it weighs that little but... okay, magic car here we come

It would have to be, however I thought it was determined the JDM numbers were also dry weight?

If the JDM weights were with fluids (90% or 11.88 gallons of fuel [~73 lbs.] + oil, transmission & diff fluids, coolant, etc. [~15 lbs.?], then that's pretty exciting.

Regarding fluids: I thought Japan does half tank of gas.

It says gross weight though, that not only includes ALL the fluids but also passengers, options, and luggage or something... That's the meaning of gross weight and why it's heavier than curb weight (no driver, passengers, or junk in the car)

It's obviously not very realistic to think this is accurate but that's what it is saying (and what the original post was asking). It sure would be nice if it was true but it's so far off all the other reported numbers I just don't see it happening

The simple matter of the situation is that they're obviously measuring and defining weight in a different way than other places have so despite it being "official", I'm still going to take what it is saying with a grain or two of salt.
