For what is essentially an extremely comprehensive mid-cycle refresh, this is impressive attention to detail.

It looks that electronics work now more even in the OFF option.

I think perhaps you misinterpreted it. The new track mode is a much more lenient traction and stability program than the current VSC Sport, and the fully OFF function turns everything off including Electronic Brake force Distribution, so officially there is no electronic intervention and the pedal dance is now obsolete.

I wonder if the new track mode is something that can be uploaded to older models.

Thanks for the information. Yes maybe I misinterpreted the following comment from the review:

"Even turning the traction control systems completely off – an option that was available on the outgoing car as well – doesn’t yield a scary car on this rainy day."

It probably is, but at what cost? It might be cheaper to buy an OFT and use the 'pedal dance' feature. I am a bit surprised that the curb weight didnt increase that much (2785lbs). Isnt a stock FRS rougly 2750lbs?? I would have thought that the Brembo's, new suspension and electronic goodies would have weighed more.

PS. Holy wheel gap Batman!!

Well I personally don't drive with it in the pedal dance mode on certain local tracks due to how dangerous they are. Pretty much walls at every corner so no room for error. So the improved track mode would be great for me, the current one intervenes when the car has so much more to give.

Did you notice the intake runners are red and the red BRZ stiching on the seat!
And what is that thing in the center console near where the coin tray/heated seat buttons are?

Interesting read. I would have thought the increased power would be more noticeable.

It seems like a nice revision, but nothing worth trading a current 86 for.

Hopefully some tuning could upload the new "off" feature and track mode. The pedal dance is extremely annoying. A button doing the same thing would be great without having to buy the beastronix deal.

It looks like a control for the infotainment system.

I don't think they 'll make it backward compatible.
