I would love to see a candor come out with a vented skid plate. That'd be nice.

We ran the vortech kit with stock hood forever and raced it on tracks in Cali mid summer. It was a boosted solution and we saw no heat issues with that either.
We did add a vented hood as we went to our turbo kit, but that was for looks more than anything. We are running all stock under panels. Everyone talks about heat issues on these cars. We're just not seeing it, from brakes, to the engine. We have two cars in house and neither car have heat issues on or off the track, even when we are in Cali mid summer. |

You guys don't have trouble keeping stock brakes from overheating? No brake mods at all? What tires and brake pads are you running?

So a couple questions... First would the base map be enough to run long term if I only wanted wastegate PSI? Seems like most base maps are intended to just get you to a tuner. Second if it's not suitable for the long haul any thoughts of getting a kit to delicious tuning to add it to the flash n go list? Third (sorry if I missed this elsewhere in the thread) what was the install time and does it require cutting the crash beam? Thanks in advance.

What we want to do with this kit is offer an included tune for spring pressure guys running on stock fueling. It will start with a safe base tune and I'll work with you remotely to dial it in perfectly. This will ensure the kit runs as designed and can troubleshoot any installation issues. We are still working out details on the higher stages to go with this kit but I would love to package in tuning for people at all levels but of course leave the option to go to your own tuner if you already have one you prefer to use. |

No problem. I sure didn't. Tuning is VERY important on these cars and my preference is to handle each person individually to make sure the kit is working as it should on their car, in their environment using their fuel. We started on 91 to find the safest power we could on that blend. We will do testing with 93 and then testing at higher boost levels before moving onto E85. For those interested in flex-fuel, I've been working with a local customer on a turbo flex-fuel tune. The tune will handle everything based on the ethanol content, including boost targets and boost control using a boost control solenoid. I imagine you'll see this as an kit option in the near future.

Excellent. Glad to hear. Im flex and tuned with Delicious. E85 should be interesting with this EFR kit. @FT86SF_tuner Are you doing speed density tunes, MAF, or a combination of both? TIA

So far I've been doing everything blow-through MAF based and it works very well. Super smooth everywhere including idle and transition areas. Haven't found a need for Speed Density yet but when I have some time and access to one of the shop cars, I plan on getting it setup and dialed in for when it might be needed. I use Cobb Speed Density for the higher power Subarus I tune (550 whp+) and its very useful on those. For the level of power that most BRZs might reach, I don't know if it will be needed unless a certain style of setup would benefit from it but again, I plan to explore it since it is available. |

Good pads on stock calipers/rotors with good fluid will do for most people. If you're running long sessions, or more experienced you're into BBK territory.

I know that, but they claimed they don't have any issues with heat in their brakes. Sounded crazy to me.
