Crickets be gone! lucas oil deep clean fuel system cleaner

Anyways so i decided to try this out today.

http://www.lucasoil.com/products/dis...stem%20Cleaner

It works! my crickets are gone. I picked this up because this was made specifically for cleaning the fuel system oppose to people using 2 stroke oil.

This thing worked fast. I had the chirping........went to the gas station, poured this in, filled my tank up with gas and drove around for a little so the fuel pump can cycle the lucas oil through and bam..... gone.

Here is a pdf to what it does: http://www.lucasoil.com/images/media...nFSC5_25oz.pdf

Says it lubricates the fuel pump, i guess it did? =)

I know its usually for older cars with dirty fuel systems, but whatevers, it worked!

Would seem to me that you'd have to add a bottle every other fill up, and how much is it per bottle $$ ??

Good to hear this works.

If the 2-stroke oil also works though, one $7 bottle of 2 stroke oil will last a LOT longer than this stuff.

After 1 week of using this while on e85 my car starting throwing air/fuel codes. Wouldn't run right at all. I hardly used the product as well. Just my experience.

I haven't noticed anything weird yet in 100 miles, the crickets are gone though.

I wonder what a quarter or less of a bottle would do...

I filled up with 95 last week, the crickets disappeared almost immediately, the engine purred. Filled up with 98 this week, crickets back.

I really wanted to ask the local dealer their opinion on adding oil but something told me not to do it. Just in case there was ever an issue I wouldn't want them saying "he told us he was adding this that and the other"

You're not the only one, I wouldn't touch this stuff with a ten foot pole.

I'd trust random strangers on the internet over the dealership techs, there's probably about the same level of knowledge. Unless it comes to a routine operation or something in the manual that you would need help with (change air filter, flush transmission) they probably won't be much help.
