They do actually. It's in their blog I believe. There are now several videos of it including the gauge cluster in working condition. Also using AC, electric steering, EVAP, etc.
Too bad we can't get an LSx section here on FT86Club to get all of us who are building these in one spot. LS1Tech is so flooded with swaps it's hard to sift through them all. Not to mention I am doing and LSx swap on a 1st gen S10 right now simultaneously.

I agree completely. You can get a Sikky (or a few others) LS1 swap kit for a 240sx for under $2k. (engine and trans mounts, oil pan, driveshaft,) Sikky is $1750. Weapons Grade offers the identical parts + brake master cylinder for $3750. I know that master cylinder isn't worth $2k. You can actually buy parts for the 240sx LS1 swap a-la-carte from Enjuku and get them for less (mounts for $300, Oil Pan for $400, DS for $300, headers $600, power steering kit for $300, BMC for $250, and converted wire harness for $600 = Grand total of $2750) Now for the BRZ/FRS: I know the world revolves around supply and demand.. so as other companies get into the game they will certainly drive down prices. I would expect WGP to charge a bit of a premium to start because they have put so much R&D into it. But I think double the price of a base install kit is a little high. The big part of a full swap kit would have to be the electrical (wiring/ecu stuff) to make sure everythings works properly.. that's certainly the hard part.. and can certainly be expensive.. So i'm sure this is going to keep the prices high for a while. At least until some pioneering forum member does it all from scratch (successfully) and shares the results. *note.. I'm not saying I would do an LS1 swap or that I think it's the best option for this car.. just commenting on the costs vs. other platforms to see what is a reasonable price for swap kits. |

As a past owner of several LS1 engines in different vehicle, I can imagine the LS in a twin would be the most fun. I absolutely cannot imagine....if I won the lottery I would do this swap instead of buying a new Porsche or something...just the thought of a lumpy LS idle coming from a twin does it for me.

Where it sits right now, engine and transmission in for the last time, they found that the stock radiator fan shroud interferes at the bottom with the LS accessories do to the tilt so they ordered Mishimoto fans and they will make custom shroud , we are also awaiting prototype long tube headers to return from header manufacturer.

My apologies I have tried searching for this but couldn't find the answer. Do you know what the weight difference will be with the new engine and transmission?

It may be my ignorance of V8's, but why do the collectors on the headers taper so far down and them open back up? It seems like it would be restrictive.
