My wife and I give ourselves $250/mo of pocket money that we use on whatever we want and it doesn't come out of any other part of our budget. But when I'm wanting to get an OFT, Header-back exhaust, wheels/tires, short-throw shifter + springs, weighted shifter, etc., it can feel like I'm going to need extra patience for this to finally come together.

If anyone does do the financing of parts, what are the pros/cons you've noticed?

Just doesn't sound very financially responsible to me. Seems a bit predatory and leave a "pay day loan" taste in my mouth.

I say if you can't pay for mods out of pocket, don't buy it. If you really wanted it, save up for it and use the extra time cool off or do more research.

I totally agree. I'm definitely the Dave Ramsey type with my financials. We decided to finance the car, but we're throwing everything we can at it. We'll be done in June. I'm waiting to pay cash for each mod, of course.

I was just curious to see if other people like to use that feature. It's good to get the pulse of the group, though.

That PayPal feature is interesting, though. I didn't know that PayPal did that. Like you said, just make sure you pay it off in those 6 months. lol.

Chase Sapphire credit card. 0% APR for 14 months, no annual fee, and $150 cash back if you put a few grand on it in the first 30 days.

Glad 1-2 is tight and isnt only Mercedes. But damn what a punch in the gut with that pit stop for Haas. Grosjean was looking good today

Anyone but Hamilton FTW! Nice season opener. Not wild about that track.

Anyway, I'm on call this weekend so I can't venture too far from Alameda. So, I took advantage of the nice weather yesterday to change the oil in my old car, now my wife's, 2007 Scion tC @ 84k miles. 4 quarts of Mobil 1 5w-20 and a Toyota 90915-YZZF1 oil filter. Why do I have that part # memorized? Wasted brain space... Best part about changing the oil on this car is that it can be done in the driveway w/o jacking the car up. Nice.

Car has been pretty problem free for the most part. New water pump went in around 55k and then about 15k ago I had the spark plugs changed, transmission fluid changed (Redline), new battery, and new front brake pads and rotors (they were warped).

I remember being pretty in love with the design of this car back when it was first released in 2005. @PMok do you still have yours?

I realize I just went grocery shopping, and the grocery store wasn't very far both ways...

But driving there in twilight with some light rain and then driving back in darkness with some music on was .

yup, still got it, like you, it's my wife's car now. she loves it to death for how practical it is... over 130K miles on it now I believe. It's been running strong, but with that many miles on it we have been talking about finding her a replacement.

excuse the dirt and grime, it looks like she took it on a safari or something last week.
