You are absolutely right. From owning this car and hearing people with other car brands, most aftermarket parts from the factory are always very minute in terms improvement / change. This is probably so that the original character of the car is preserved, yet the price also seems to be the most expensive when considering benefits/cost ratio.

I think this is why STI never publishes statistical figures, because the avg consumer thinks price is relative to numerical figures and stats (the aftermarket knows this, hence they tend to offer parts that demonstrate big changes). Besides, the factory tuning arm could be the same people that engineered the car to begin with, so they can't really be contradictory to the original car design.

Got my STi sticker a few days ago.
It looks pretty good in person.
I don't know if it's the heat or what, but it keeps peeling up.

I forgot who it was that installed the draw stiffener, but does instructions come with it? Probably my last major mod on the BRZ for a while I prep a new car purchase haha

It came with lengthy instructions in Japanese. Sorry I threw my packaging away along with the instructions that I translated DOH!

If you can't find the instructions, off my head I can remember most of it:

Basically the left and right rods are oriented differently. The front of the car is towards the top of this pic:

You also need to use a black marker and mark 3mm on the rod away from the damper unit where the o-ring is. The rod allows for a controlled movement of maximum 3mm of the chassis (you might want to consider removing the TRD door stablizer cuz of this). This mark should still be visible after install.

When you set the length of the rods, it only allows for 13mm in variation. The length of the two rods do not have to match if your chassis is aged (mine was installed when the car was relatively new and both rods came out the same set length). The only thing I can't seem to recall is the adjustment range (I *think* it's 350mm to 363mm, if you don't get this right you will damage the frame during use).

The kit comes with a metal bracket and two bolts, you take the center two bolts off the front subframe towards the rear of the car, slide in the bracket with the wings pointing towards the ground to sit in-between the engine cover and the subframe, and replace the two bolts with the longer ones from the kit.

As with the other ends tying onto the side chassis railings, the bolts that would normally hold the transmission cover would need to be installed temporarily while you set the length and bolt everything else down. The very last step of the install is to remove these two bolts, install the transmission cover and then reinstall these bolts.

You should email Japanparts for a copy of the instructions.

Looks pretty good, I'm assuming you had to remove the subaru badge for it to fit?

Yeah planning to get a WRX. Want to make it a sister car to the BRZ. So with that in mind, planning to get a WRB with the STi lip kit, exhaust, the inevitable pink springs that will be released. Also want to pick up the JDM grille and the fog light housing that gas the DRL bar on them.

The S4 still confuses me, looks like its just their version of the CVT WRX? I plan on getting those wheels though

Thanks for the feedback...I was excited for the install but I think japanparts messed up my order...I ordered one pair each of the front and rear springs, but both of the boxes have the same part number...are the springs interchangeable? I imagine that they aren't.
