Has a service manual scan popped up anywhere yet? I would think the dealers would have already gotten their copies long ago.

It would be great to know various assembly/disassembly procedures and torque specs.

I may end up buying one but I have no way to digitize it for sharing. It would be great for the community if there was an electronic version available.

I would really like to have an electronic version that is searchable and indexed. I usually buy the service manuals for my cars, and I'd pay for the electronic version as well.

I don't do the whole copyright infringement thing; I believe that people should be paid for the work they do. If I don't like the price/terms then I simply go without.

I'm hoping to negotiate for a service manual when I buy the car. I've never tried it before but I figure it's worth a try.

Hey...The Service manual is not up yet...but when it is..you will find it Here....

You will have to pay to download it...Usually it lets you have access for 24 hours per subscription...Hope that helps . Usually its a downloadable PDF..

Toyota's service manual is cheaper (or the online access is anyway). Everything should be the same except for a few minute details.

I spend 30k on a car, I expect the service manual. They have to work it up anyway for all the repair shops, it's digital at that point, costs them nothing to let the at-home mechanic download the thing.

I'm not a fan of the subscription based service. It might make sense for a large dealership, but for consumers like me, I think it's silly.

Since I'm not going to shell out $35 whenever I need to check something, I'll need to spend over an hour to download the 80 or so separate PDFs for my car. Then I'll need to make my own index HTML file because I won't be using their website to select the PDFs. It's a really clunky system designed to nickel and dime the user with their outdated business model, and it doesn't make for a good consumer experience.

Sure, the PDFs don't come out of air for free, but they need to make them as part of the development of the car. Maybe I'm becoming more socialist, but I'd rather have a $5 electronic service manual fee added on to price of every car and then just have them host the PDFs online for everyone at no additional charge. Amazon charges $0.12/GB for data transfer, so if the PDF was 86 MB (10 times larger than the 484 page owner's manual), it would be under one cent per download at today's prices.

I have no problem paying for proper tech info for my cars. :shrug:

I actually prefer paper manuals since I don't keep a laptop in the garage.

I admit that making everyone pay "$5" is somewhat socialist, and I'm sure $5 is way too much. As I mentioned, the distribution cost would be under 1 cent per download at today's prices and I'm sure that number will go down.

I prefer paper manuals as well.

I'm going to tell my dealer to keep their owner's manual and give a $5 credit for it. I learn by random button clicks.
