Spacers / Studs VOID Warranty?

I ordered some 10mm spacers that came with studs and called a shop to have them installed (not the dealer). They said if I installed them it would void my warranty.

This is BS right?

if you ever went to the dealer with aftermarket studs or spacers because of a failed bearing then they can easily deny coverage.

your whole warranty won't be void but parts of it could be, ie, anything that failed as a result of, or probable result of, your modification.

I would say any kind of wheel/tire warranty would be gone. I would also say any kind of hub warranty would be gone as well and the dealer would probably try to blame the stud/spacer install on any other issues in the area of the hub.
