Does anyone run an EL JDL V2 setup? Curious to know what the differences are in the power delivery.

This kit is excellent @mitople i've had it for 1000 miles and everything is great. I recommend the ceramic coating because it really helps keep temperatures down. i don't see a need for exhaust wrap if you get ceramic coating

Installed kit and having boost creep.
Had a EBC but took it off to figure out why its creeping.
Currently the bottom port of the turbosmart wastegate is directly connected to the turbo housing port.
Spools up real fast and goes past 7 psi and i see up to 12 psi around 4.5 to 5k rpm also seems like it would keep going up if i kept my foot on the pedal but dont want to risk anything further so i would let go.
Double triple checked the routing for wastegate to turbo and its hard to mess that up as its one hose from the gate to turbo. and i made sure its the bottom port.
Spoke to jdl and agreed to take out the waste gate spring to keep the gate open and it was building boost up to 8psi at past 6k rpm with the wastegate fully opened.
Wastegate had a brown and purple spring witch should be a 7psi spring.
Used an air pump with a regulator and tested the waste gate bottom port to see when it starts to crack open the gate and its around 7psi ish and has to hit up to 20 psi to fully open the gate. Should i be making boost with fully open wastegate? or is that not normal.
Set aside the waste gate pressure test. As i mentioned above took out the WG spring completely to keep the gate open and it was still building boost.
Engine is fully built by Blue moon performance. forged internals with 1mm larger valves. Intake and exhaust port matched for better flow. which i don't know if that would contribute to overboosting or creeping.

No cats in the exhaust with tomei op HKS dual resonated fp and ark dts exhaust.

Any input or suggestions on why i might be having such extreme boost creep?

Last resort from JDL would be getting bigger wastegate installed but they also mentioned it seems quite strange that I'm having such boost creep with my setup.

TUUUURRRBOOOO

Its finally happened, I caved and bought the JDL kit a little earlier than planned and man am I excited!

Ended up going with:
GT2860RS
UEL
OMNI 3 bar map
JDL bumper bar
JDL oil pan
Standard charge pipe routing
And the recirculated waste gate.
Cherokee black intercooler upgrade
Thermal ceramic black hot side
Ceramic red cold side
JDL resonated catted over pipe front pipe combo

Planning on getting her tuned by PTUNING Manassas ( I live close and have heard good things ). Looking to hit 300Whp so here we go!

Also I should add I'm also l also have on order before the kit gets here a P3 vent gauge ( to monitor my babys vitals ) and a full blown catch can setup to keep any of those nasty crank case pressure problems away.

And yes I have done supporting mods,
Clutch is an ACT HD
I have a slotted drilled rotor kit with nice pads
And of course some nice sized shoes for her to keep her on the road

Cant wait!

I've never been one for E tunes, especially with switching from NA to FI. Is there any particular reason you recommend them? I've seen many people use them on the forums but eh maybe I'm just old school.

HRI has tuned hundreds if not over a thousand of these cars, his experience with tuning this engine of all different combinations is probably unmatched. Delicious calls HRI when they run into a problem.

well this is an interesting statement. I'm glad it's not tuning wars though and they help each other out though.

Is anyone using the JR Dual Oil Cooler/Radiator? If so, which slim fan set-up do you reccomend? I was looking at the Mishimoto Plug & Play but I am not sure it would provide clearance for the JDL GT2860RS installation.
