Scored some choice boneless NY strip steaks cut to order (2") at Kroger, $6.99/lb. Then went a little crazy and marinated them in Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki (wife's favorite, I like mine aged 4 days in the fridge, rubbed with fresh garlic cloves, salt and pepper) then grilled on one side of the outdoor grill with fresh asparagus on the other. A nice Zinfandel made the menu. So today I'll need to do 90 minutes of cardio to work it off.

I like and use that as a marinade all the time too. Kona Coast has some good ones as well.

I will finally have my Xbox and sim setup in my apartment. Can't lap my car for real, my as well do it virtually.

I've been trying to cut down my sugar intake and have been doing my own marinades lately. It is hard to cook in my apartment so I haven't got to play around with it as much. Beef is what I have the hardest time with.

I'm with you on cutting back sugar. It's alarming how much sugar or equivalent is in most off the shelf products.

The two things I gave up making when considering cost of ingredients, prep time, and final flavor profile is sauces and marinades. I wait for Mezzetta sales!

The only meat I can reliably cook by sight and touch is fish filets. For everything else I trust a good instant read thermometer.

One of these days I'll get myself a good wheel and pedals. It's real hard to steer accurately with a controller, but turning on the assists feels like cheating. So I just avoid online stuff because I would suck. I mean, I would probably suck with a wheel too, but at least I wouldn't be jerking the steering all over the place.

Did a decent spray job on the old mail box. It's not perfect but WAY better than it was. Anyway I needed to something to stop the rust. I could buy a new one but I like this big old mailbox. I want to the U.S. MAIL and the stripes in blue but I'm scared.

Who owns the mailbox? Is it the home owner or the post office? I only ask as they all tend to be the same shape (the ones I've seen)..

My Fiancée owns this house. (The one we live in). I assume the mailbox is ours although who knows it seems like it's been here forever. It's next to the front porch though not out at the street.
