FRS or IS350 F-Sport

So long story short my current car will be paid off this summer.
My Dad works for Toyota so I'm limited to Toyota Lexus or Scion due to the fact I can take advantage of the employee pricing.

So I've narrowed it down to two cars I'm stuck between.
The FRS and the IS350 RWD with the F-Sport package.

Which would you recommend and why?

Isnt that IS350 like twice the cost of the FR-S?

the "F-Sport" package is just cosmetic. And if he's looking at a pre-owned. He could get one for 35 ish depending on the employee discount.

I'm mainly looking for a RWD vehicle that has decent power and is a blast to drive.

The cost isn't a big factor to me. To put a price on it I would say I'm looking for under 43K. The employee pricing is that I get it for Dealer Cost.

I love both of the car's Yes the Lexus is faster but I also like the two door appeal of the FRS.

A sports car vs. a sporty sedan

Two are completely different cars.

I don't think the FRS and IS350 can be compared. Two different cars!

Correct it is more than just cosmetic.

F-Sport package on the IS350 adds this along with the cosmetic stuff.

-Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) with electronically adjustable shock absorbers

-Variable Gear-Ratio Steering, 2.5 - 3.5 turns, lock to lock

Drive the IS for a while and compare it to most any other luxury sedan, and it is very responsive, fun quick, and a great car.

Drive the FR-S for a while, get back in the IS350 (even with the suspension and trans set to Sport +), and the IS is a bit slow to respond, and you can definitely feel the weight difference.

Again, if you need a family car, and a sports car, you should own both.
I do not need a family car. You say you own the IS 350 AWD F-Sport. Have you driven the RWD version? I ask this because only the RWD comes with the 8 Speed transmission while the AWD comes with the 6 Speed.

Yes there are a lot of cars but I'm going with a Toyota because of the discount I can get which equals me paying approximately what the car is worth after I drive it off the lot.

I would suggest to test drive both.

The IS is a very good looking car. You will notice the difference between HP, and the interior and extra features are one of the best out there. You will get performance, comfort, luxury, and more. If you get the Mark Levinson audio, it is truly an amazing addition. It is a car that is twice the value, and you get what you pay for kind of thing.

The FR-S on the other hand is your raw sports car. It is a coupe, has option for manual. Unless you are getting a Monogram, you are getting very little in terms of features and luxury, and even then it is not very much.

Out of curiousity, if money is not exactly an issue and you have some room to play considering you are already thinking of a IS350. Have you thought about hanging onto the current vehicle for a few months after summer, and wait for the RC350?

Alright so the "f sport" package is more than cosmetic, the point of the post was about cost and being able to get a pre owned for a reasonable price. In other words: it's not an is-f.
