Haven't updated this in awhile. To play catch up.

I took the car down to replace the lifters and check over the cam and cylinder walls. Everything looked good from the top, so I am still not sure where my metal is coming from. Got it all back together (for the most part) and I am currently waiting for a nice enough day to get the measurements for the pushrods.

I had ordered a turbo and turbo manifolds for the LS as well getting ready to do a twin turbo build...

Kind of lost interest after coming to the realization that the engine realistically needed torn down completely to do a rebuild/refresh. So last second with some good black friday deals, I ordered 2jz engine mounts, Wiseco Pistons, and some good PHR goodies. When the pistons arrive, I will be sending the block and pistons to the machine shop. Still deciding on rods.

That being said. The wastegate and BOV combo I have had sitting on the shelf for a few years will finally have a use, and so will the turbo I just bought.

Currently looking at ECU Masters EMU Black, Treadstone Cast manifold, and Grannas 2jz to t56 kit. Should be relatively straight forward swap ( I hope) with not too much downtime between the two. Really hoping the LS sells quick.

You are going 2JZ now? Why not another LS engine?

Want to try something else, and I am done dealing with these issues.

Hopefully the 2jz gives you less issues than the LS. You put in alot of work just to be frustrated by the setbacks. I can see why you want to go another direction. I bought my motor new from GM to hopefully avoid issues with a aftermarket builder. Hopefully next year I get mine going, and then I will see if it paid off.

I wish I would have went with a GM crate engine. So many things would be different because most of my budget went to buying the TSP engine. I thought it would be worth it and it hasn't been. I have a feeling I would be loving the car and it would still be ripping around.

@mrg666 Thanks! Hopfully I can keep the updates coming somewhat steady. First hurdle is finding a machine shop. None of the ones in the area have a torque plate for the 2jz. So may be traveling 3+ hours to drop the engine off.

Got a few parts in.

I am pretty sure these are going to need a bit of work. Mostly because these are designed to sit on top of the OEM engine mount bracket. The bracket is cut off with the vorshlag kit. So I will probably need some spacers of some sort. Though I will see if I can get away with the engine sitting lower a tiny bit.

Rod bearings also came in, still haven't seen them.

Pushrods came in for the LS. Hopefully get those installed this weekend and get the car running. Maybe a running ls will entice more buyers haha.

Way too much

LS was almost running yesterday. Somehow lost 1 valve cover bolt and all my intake manifold bolts. Looked everywhere at my friends house (where the car is) and they are nowhere to be found. I am going to look in the only other possible place, which is my wifes car somehow. Not holding my breath, but hopeful I can at least buy some local if I can't find them. It's really the only thing holding me back from getting it running.

Scored a sick deal on a Clutch Masters 2JZ/t56 fx300 clutch kit. Includes flywheel and an adjustable slave cylinder. Excited for that to get here as that saved me a ton of money and knocks something important off the list. Just need to order the bellhousing and I can set the engine in after it comes back from machine shop/assembly while I collect more of the parts.

Clutch kit was used for around 1000 miles before being swapped for a higher capacity multi-disk unit. So disk is slightly used.
