You're sounding rather enamoured (read: annoyed) by this local anomaly. I hope the Lava wasn't a response to get "even" with the unbalanced attraction that your local faker is garnering..

As for the chameleon color. Currently trying to sell forum stickers again. While asking which colors of vinyls they wanna see the stickers in, one of em said chameleon. On Black Friday local hobby shop had chameleon vinyls on sale, so give a try... & chameleon stickers came out better than Iíve expected. Thatís all. Iím not planning to wrap my whole car into chameleon, so donít need to worry bout that.
Rather ironic that 'chameleon' colours were discounted on 'Black' Friday!!

Like the "Tubro" badge, but they all seem to be misspelled.

I've seen a couple of the 308 "conversions" that were done very well. The owners were smart enough to beef up the engine, or used the V6 version of the Fiero as a base.

Never cared much for the F40 ones though. They were like 3/4 size and awkward.

The Stinger ones were particularly nice. Again, as @Tcoat says, obvious it isn't a true 308, but I wouldn't kick it out of the garage.

Who the hell bought a 2000GT for a million?
There are very special version/concours level ones selling for almost half that.
Still not cheap but not a million either.

Perhaps it was a rather special "fake" GT200000...

I can't even stand when people clone actual cars to higher models (there are more Chevelle SS on the road now than they built) so throwing even a good kit on does not impress me and would not let it in my garage to start with.

Nah. Just find it hilarious actually.
Half the people around my area think Scion is some exotic or a special version of Porsche but at least I laugh and correct them when they say something that dumb.

I struggle with re-shelled mk 1 mini Coopers. Minis rot, when it becomes uneconomical to restore we get re-shelling.. new shells are manufactured by the British Motor Heritage, a legitimate business. The question is whether a re-shelled car using the original VIN is still the original car?? The same applies to MGBs and the old Lotus Elans using a new chassis..

I'm with you on that particular habit. Not much into "tribute cars". @JD001 Same goes for taking a 60% wrecked car and restoring it to "like new". It really isn't, it actually is new, even if built from new-old stock.

I consider the kit route a different thing all together though. More like building a hot rod, if done right.

I don't look at it that way, as I said, more like building a hot rod. Of course, I wouldn't label it Ferrari either.

The done right part is what can be lacking. My biggest beef is when they badge it as what the kit body shape is.
