Installed the FRAM filter, as well... seems to be doing its job! Whew, the stock one was full-up... leaves, seeds, all sorts of crap. Wouldn't have thought that much stuff could be accumulated in a little over a year. Wild.

How big a deal is it to replace the cabin filter? I only did it once on my last car, I usually drive with the windows down unless the AC or heat is on, so I figure im breathing in anything that could be filtered anyway.

How much give is this thing supposed to have?? I'm completely unable to squeeze the sides together with my fingers. I tried some jewelers' pliers as well and it still wouldn't work.

I'm guessing I'm reading these instructions wrong -- can someone clue me in? You're just supposed to squeeze the two halves together and push it out?

Yeah...squeeze the two halves and slide the hook off.

The instructions are correct. I was able to squeeze that with just my fingers.

To those of you using the Wix cabin filter, did you install it with the arrow facing up or down? The stock filter has the arrow facing up, but the instructions included in the Wix filter for the Honda Fit says to install it with the arrow pointing down.

After two days I found some dust and pollen on the top side of the filter. Which way is the correct way for our cars?

If it's an airflow arrow, it should be down. If it's an up arrow, it should be up. Our airflow direction is the same as the Fit.
