Everyone talking about driving a 2 as a rental car reminds me that I almost had one as a rental car. My FR-S was vandalized and went for repairs. The insurance paid for a compact, but when I went to rental place, the lot was basically empty. I saw a 2 and decided I'd want a Mazda over anything else. It went to the person in front of me and I was 'upgraded' to a Chrysler 300. What a boat.

That's neither here nor there though. Good job on being responsible OP. I like Mazda's a lot so that's probably the only thing I would replace the FR-S with.

I solve this problem by telling them "we can take my car, if someone is willing to sit in the back". Usually I end up not driving which is OK by me.

Good excuse to get out of using your gas to drive everyone around!

Never in my life I thought I would have bought a Mazda till I drove the newer skyactiv platforms. Very nice cars.
My story is the other way around. I've been driving Mazda3's for last 9 years. First an '04 then a '12. Loved them. Super fun to drive, excellent bang for your buck, highly practical. When it came time that my kids barely fit in the backseat anymore anyway, I decided it had lost it's usefulness. These days any time I need to haul anything (kids, costco stuff, hockey bag) I use my truck and for my DD and fun driving it's all about the BRZ. But my Mazdas were damn fun cars to drive for what they were and I wasn't going to trade in on anything that was anything less exciting.

Good for you OP, knowing what's the best for you right now!

I will probably be doing the same thing with my FRS in august when the ND Miata comes out.. That car just keeps growing on me the more and more I look into it. Hell with the weight difference it should feel faster than the frs hehe not that that really matters but it will be fun. My only gripe with it is the lack of a hard top option.. I swore I would never buy anther convertible unless I could get a hard top with it. But idk I might cave lol

I had a mazda 2 rental as well but it had the exact opposite on me. It was fun and all but I couldn't wait to get back in the BRZ. Maybe it was the even more lack of power or it was an auto. Trying to accelerate in Cali freeways sucked lol.

My other car is a mazda3.

Keep in mind the Mazda2 = Ford Fiesta

So not a bad car at all since Mazda always messes with the suspension and usually has better styling and interior.

How is Mazda2 = Fiesta?

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars...sta-vs-mazda2/

In addition to that, Mazda2 is built in Japan and Fiesta is built in Mexico.
(I'm talking about 2011 Mazda2. Not 2016.)

Unless you insist on driving everywhere having a small car is the greatest. You never have to be the driver for nights out.

That's why I loved my S2k. Sorry, only have one extra seat. And no asked you to help them move.

So, i was upset that you traded your frs for that (i would rather have the fiesta st, but thats personal choice)

Although you peaked my intrest in that CBR...you better make that a café racer. Cliped handles, stubby exhaust and the single light farling.
