I still occasionally find people arguing over whether the car was designed/engineered by Toyota or Subaru, and I direct them to this thread. I think it should be a sticky because this isn't just a cool car, it's got history in it's veins.

Yep, this article contains excellent information on the development of the car. Thanks again for uploading this. It is definitely sticky-worthy material.

The 2013 Scion FR-S takes Toyota's youth-oriented brand into an entirely new direction, one that's notably sportier than anything Scion has previously offered. This rear-wheel-drive coupe is all about balance, not sheer numbers. Size and weight have been kept in check, while a low provides nimble handling. Development was a joint effort between Toyota and Subaru, and you'd be hard pressed to spot the differences between the Scion FR-S and its Subaru equivalent, the BRZ. Mechanically speaking, they're identical twins, with only a few subtle exterior differences to distinguish one from the other. 240w led flood light

"Built by Passion Not by Committee"
"Two car companies...." Did nobody else get this?! That is the funniest most oxymoronic two sentences that have eve been strung together. ALL cars get built by a group of committees. In this case,we had two companies worth of committees. I could go back and dig up the spiel on the Miata from when it first came out, it would ready pretty much word for word. As a matter of fact it might be the same book with the word Miata exchaned for FRS/BRZ |

Saved this during the time I was considering the car, and finally sat down and gave it a read.
What an inspirational piece of material. Since the day behind the wheel of my very own FRS, I can sense that the overwhelming amount of R&D has undergone for this vehicle. This just double sure that I have picked the right platform. Would like a PDF if that is possible. Thanks!

This was a great read.
Really tragic how the car was ultimately received by the clueless car culture. |

It was inevitable. Those of us that get it still have and love ours. I think they'll age well too.
