Subaru WRX STI steering wheel on Scion FR-S?
Hey guys,
Recently I've been trying to convert as much stuff as possible to OEM STI parts, when I tried to change over the steering wheel, I realized that the spline sizes are different. I was unable to find any info on somebody trying this prior to trying it myself, so I thought I would just give it a shot. Of anybody has tried or knows a way of doing this successfully, please fill me in! Thanks! |

Do you mean a tuned by STI BRZ, or an actual WRX STI steering wheel?
A WRX or STI steering wheel will not fit our cars. Not sure why you would want to either, its not nearly as good as all the options available for a BRZ/FRS. |

If you just want it cuz u want control for stereo..... No. Thought the first press car for Brz back in 2011 has them.
tS wheel is as close as it get.... Though I would say TRD wheel is better. |

The tS steering wheel is $350, and looks exactly like the stock FRS wheel....

Not looking for stereo controls. I like the STI wheel better than the Scion one.

WRX STI. I just like the look and feel of it, plus it goes with my emblems and stock STI wheels.

tbh, if the splines are different sizes, I wouldn't even try to find a way to make it fit. you're just adding extra points of stress if you somehow retrofit it and will become a safety concern.

That's a nice steering wheel, even smaller than the GT86's. I dig the flat bottom. The problem is you are dealing with Toyota parts mixed with Subaru engineering. You might be able to bore out the center and have an adapter fabricated and pressed in, but in the long run that might not be great.

This guy is correct. To change the splines you are talking about cutting and welding out parts, or fabricating the whole steering wheel assembly not just the wheel to fit into your car. If the point it making it match the sti logos on your other parts then it would be easier trying to get a custom decal made. If the point is you like the flat bottom, other companies make flat bottom wheels for our cars. If the point is both, then buy an aftermarket flat bottom wheel and get a custom one off decal made. Less chopping up your car in the long run those ways.
