Never been so thankful to have these tires and traction control! First session was WET! Looking forward to a drying track the rest of the weekend! Barber is still beautiful and the facilities are amazing. Can't wait to see the museum later.

First day at Barber Motorsports Park in the books.

Definitely the most challenging track I've ever driven. It poured rain this morning and stopped just before my first session. Drove through puddles and rivers with a very conservative line.

This afternoon was drying slowly but still damp and I was able to pick up the pace but I still struggled for grip in nearly every corner all day and gave the TCS a workout.

^what I was dealing with in group 4. Being passed by it was a violent experience.

I got some GoPro footage from inside the cabin to review later and share if it's any good.

Desperate for sunshine and a completely dry track tomorrow!

How does it stack up against AMP?

So far it feels like a mash-up between AMP and Road Atlanta. Tight and complex like AMP but with more straights like RA.

Road Atlanta has more dramatic elevation changes than both AMP and Barber, but the corners at Barber are more challenging than both for me personally. Maybe because it was so slippery out today. I also feel like Barber has a higher braking demand than both, too.

Hoping to find some better rhythm out there tomorrow as well as more grip!

Here we go!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q171SyarOW8"]Subaru BRZ at Barber Motorsports Park with Alabama PCA 12/15/13 (24 min) - YouTube[/ame]

My fastest session of the weekend in group 4. I let a Seal Grey Cayman S by 5 minutes in, then spent the next 13 minutes going ballistic trying to catch back up only to get a break with some slow traffic entering pit lane. The real battle starts at the 14 minute mark!

My last session of the weekend. Groups 3 and 4 combined after an oil spill from turn 15 through 5B, hence all the oildry kicking up dust and my speed and line through that sector being a little off.

Despite not having an instructor all weekend and the subsequent challenges learning the track in the wet on Saturday, these Sunday sessions on a dry track were very rewarding. After reviewing the wet footage it's not even worth uploading and sharing. I was all over the place and there's just not much to see besides a very frustrated driver and a TCS light going off every corner.

These two dry sessions were really fun and after reviewing those I think I can definitely take more speed through turns 1, 5, 9 and 10, but I was remembering the lessons learned from the day before in the wet and just never really explored the grip limit there thinking I'd better be safe than sorry since I had all the aids turned off.

What an amazing facility!

Can't wait to come back ASAP next year!

Where you on E85 for the whole weekend? You going to go back out there in February with HoD?

Pump 93 octane E10 gas with no additives.

I actually hadn't looked at HoD's 2014 schedule until now and it's looking really good! Just registered to instruct at their 2/24 event at Barber.

My Black BRZ: "Melanie"

You can thank me for that haha. I am trying to work that one into my schedule but I am going to be flying to San Diego either on the 25 or 26 so I doubt I can make that one.

Which organizations use you as an instructor?

Cleaning up the brakes and swapping back to the OEM pads for a little while.

These are the Project Mu Club Racer fronts after 5 track days.

The piston-side pads are chunking a bit. I think I'll get at least one more track weekend out of them. @CounterSpace Garage

Feedback/thoughts? Interesting that the piston side is wearing faster, when you have ducting.

Great modulation and hot bite, even a decent cold bite despite the little bit of noise they make. They take a pounding on track, never faded once, haven't destroyed my rotors. Would buy again assuming the chunking doesn't become an issue.

Cleaned up and engaged Atlanta winter mode with a fun twist

20mm front and 25mm rear bolt-on hubcentric spacers from @b2autodesigns

I like the flush OEM+ look. No additional NVH and easy install.

In before scrub radius, ruined handling, blah blah blah...
