I plan on trading one of our cars in for the FR-S, anyone know how that works if I want to preorder? Hell I don't even mind letting it go this weekend lol. Guess I should make a trip out to the dealership one of these days...

It works the exact same way as if the car was already on their lot. Sometimes you can agree to a pre-determined trade in value before the ordered car arrives though.

Not one person in Ottawa has pre-ordered the FR-S other than me. Everyone I know is waiting for the new GC or Mustang.

No, there is no list nor ranking. Gotta google search one car at a time. For the pre-order prior to the release date, CR-Z actually was 4700 instead of 10k. Prius c was 60k. Prius v was 25k.

I heard at the Longo dealership in SoCal is already pretty long. That the largest Toyota/Scion dealership in the US. I think the first preorder was in August 2011

People have to realize that Japan doesn't have Mustang's or Dodge's in their market. No cheap RWD's have been available for a while outside of the MX5/RX8. And even then, neither of those are particularly cheap. The RX8 doubly suffers from being a gas hog in a country (Japan) where gas is 145yen to the liter, or about $6+ a gallon. The BRZ/FRS are priced right for their market.

I am in a different situation since I am handing down my current vehicle to my daughter and then plan to purchase the car outright so that I do not have any car payments. Good Luck!
