FR-S and GReddy/Scion Racing FR-S Premier @ NAIAS '12

note the vid in the first 50 sec or so and look carefully at both cars....look familiar? that's the "spy footage" we were all speculating about a week ago.

"we don't expect many Scion owners to take it to this level"

-why not? It is a "blank canvas" and a "enthusiast's car"

(I think that line proves the fact that it is pretty expensive to make lots of horsepower)

Because the Cosworth engine is so expensive or because the FR-S base price is so high that nobody will want to spend more?

If the car only 'needs' 200HP to be so much fun.... WTH is this one doing with 600HP?

Just another example of "Do as I say, not as I do///" meh

The vehicle Greddy built for Formula-D is just an example of what can be done to an already beautifully engineered car. First off its an EJ25 so it doesn't share the same engine, so comparing them is a little hard even through both power plants are Boxer engines. I'm interested to see why they will do with more time and the original drivetrain.
I am pretty pumped that this car will be competing either way.

the cosworth engine is ~$13k for a long block so ~$20k for engine and ecu assembly. I'm interested to see what the gearbox and rear diff is.

Yeah and keeping in mind that the Cage, turbo setup also adds weight back into the car. Still being lighter is sweet.

It's Formula D bro....9 out of 10 cars has 500-700+whp.
