Well at 5 year the pay was something like 300/400 a month but at 550 I can finish at 2 years and ~7 months or so.

Because I'm bored; a bit more exact:

If down payment of $8.5k is before the financing then payments should be $350 a mo.

If down payment is after then @60mo payment is around $511.

If either way with the down payment applied before or after, if he pays $550 a month it will take 33 months to pay off.

It's an easy to make payments like that when you've got no other bills. Frankly I'm sodomized by school loans on a monthly basis so 500 a month would be a touch too expensive for me. I'm waiting for the STI if it comes out next year anyway should have at least 15k to throw on a DP at least.

The other way isn't a down payment per se but rather a "large post payment."

You would do this if you needed the liquidity short term, and/or wanted to "force" yourself to pay the higher payment.

Some people when they see the $350 every month, go, "Hrmm, I'll pay the minimum and use the rest for mods!!!!"

Or something...

$23000 down 7556.64 on loan at 0.99% APR for 2 years. Was able to get low interest because of high DP and CS.

Why rag on those making higher payments? Some of us bought this car as a first time owner without much in the bank to start.

With a steady income I hope to refinance in 1 year and pay the car off much sooner than the original 5 yr plan.

Why hate on people whose mothers and fathers bought them the car? Give me a GOOD reason.

Making large payments means your parents gave you the car? Doesn't really relate to my comment.

Purchased this straight out of grad school on my own merit, living month to month...
