Anyway, living in US you have to have a truck as one of cars in family.
I got it. I was just busting your balls.

XTerra for a little over less than 7000, and it will probably serve a new owner for 2-3 more years. Having a truck in the family helps a lot in many cases.
Don't buy a Mazda 3. The kid who lives next door to me has one, and I think he visibly wilts whenever he sees me pull out of the garage. And this is a guy who literally spends an entire Saturday washing his car. Every week, without fail. Needless to say, he probably loves his car, but even he knows it's no Toyobaru. You wouldn't want to regret it later. Sadly enough, I'm more than sure that just his aftermarket brake kit costs more than my car entirely.

But the other guys in the thread are right. If you're stretching a budget...the twins aren't great cars to be buying. They're expensive to keep up. Insurance, premium gas, etc. The whole "cheap sports car" crowd seem to sometimes forget that they're only cheap...compared to other sports cars, which are luxury items. They're still relatively expensive vehicles for what they can't do.

My optimistic view: You're practically earning money by not buying one!

You bought it this week and you're selling it already? Why?

I'm a mechanic, this car is reliable. I haven't ran into many problems with my customers, other than the dreaded seat belt buckle. If you maintain this car well it'll last you for a while.

This ^^^

You are looking at other options now but wanted to chime in (for others too).

I had an RX-8 for 4 years and loved it. But it's a pig on gas, worse than you could imagine (18L/100city).

It's a fantastic car at the track, handling is terrific, but that Wankel just keeps coming back with issues, $70 plugs, coil-packs, plugged cats and that's just what I went through with mine. Oh, and unresolvable fuel starvation too.

I really wanted to love and keep that car, but in the end was happy to give it back at end of lease. Look elsewhere.

IS300 seems like a good bet.

IS300 is a rear-drive car.
