Arrow What have been your 0-60 times?

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAH AHAH

is my reaction when I see in articles or even our holy Clarkson read off the pamphlet that the twins do 0-60 in an astonishing 7.7 seconds...

My dads E60 525i (215hp/185tq) & probably 3500+ ibs does it in 7.6 secs. And that is in Auto without the "sport" mode on.

So what are the actual 0-60 times of the twins? I can't imagine a nearly 1000 ibs less car with 200 hp (maybe the torques the issue) does it in 7.7 secs.

Motor Trend says the Limited AT took 7.7, which was 1.3 slower than the 6MT, putting it at about 6.4, which is in line with most other 6MT 0-60 times I've heard. 6.2-6.5 is pretty 'standard'.

The best time I've seen quoted for a manual was 6.1

I think with good rims/tires and aggressive launches you could see consistent low ~6.x times.

Those times make a lot more sense. What about if we switch out the un-grippy stock tires...Any data on how much the performance summer tires help the brz do it in?

The Motor Trend babe (lady) visiting tire-rack says she shaved more than a second on her best lap around the track with a BRZ and that the tires were the most cost-effective upgrade for the vehicle.

With the FR-S power to weight ratio, 0-60 should be in the low 6's!

Would an automatic on manual mode have the same 0-60 times as a manual (assuming driver in manual does not build RPMs & drop that clutch)?

0-60 in 6.5 is what Edmunds clocked it at and they are conservative (6.2 seconds with 1 ft rolloff). I would say 6.2-6.5 with the manual should be consistent.

With some minor mods, you should be able to get the car in the high 5's I would think.

By look alone, the twins should be able to do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds.

Hard to say.

Well getting away from a stand still with the manual still requires applying some throttle, unless you let the clutch out real slowly without throttle then mash the gas when it catches. If you did that the auto would probably be a car or two ahead of you before you could apply 100% throttle.

If you held the revs at say 1500 or so just so the car didn't bog when you dumped the clutch might be pretty close, if the auto just mashed the gas from a dig.

I don't think being in manual mode will help the 0-60 time in the auto. It should shift at redline just as fast under full throttle as it does in manual mode.

Drive safe.

i think the topgear 0-60 time was actually the 0-62 time because here in belgium they are advertised as 0-100kmph in 7.6sec(0-62mhp) but yeah they should be faster

This may sound dumb, but which traction mode gives the best take off and best 0-60 time?

Full traction ON stops power to the wheels so I'd think either sport mode or Holding the trac button for 5 seconds.

I drive a 6MT.

I've registered a few 5.9 with light wheels, sticky tires, muffler delete and drop in filter.

Full off. Sport mode turns TCS off, supposedly, but the stability cuts in if you have any angle at all, which always happens in a hard launch.

What I would really like to know is what are the 0-60 times for Vortech SC BRZs....

nobody seems to post their data outside of whp and dyno sheets.
