Visconti true colors shown, def wouldnt give him a dime

So at first i was posting general questions and concerns about some stuff he offered to assist etc (im assuming to make money later down the road) i decided to use other local routes instead of remote one. I saw he has chimed in here and there to give advise for others so i reached out again for his opinion. And all i got was you dont have my tune so dont bother me. I thought the idea of this forum was to help one another and if we decide to purchase stuff great. I guess dont offer to help if your gonna be @** later. Be prof, not rude. I wouldnt give him a cent after our last convo no matter how "helpfull" he was. Its all about a lasting impression and i have now seen his true colors. Just my opinion of course so take it for what it is.

Thanks

A bit off topic, but this is for others reading this:

I am not defending him but please don't be the guy who spends hours talking to a vendor, getting ideas, help, etc from them and then ask them to price match someone who wouldn't give you the time of day to save $20...

Not saying that's what happened here, but I can see how some vendors wouldn't always be helpful when this happens to them enough and I know for a fact it happens to vendors on here...

So you want him to tell you everything for free? Knowledge is power and whatever he helped you out with in the beginning you should appreciate it. He is here to run a business and his knowledge is his business .
You shouldnt call out a vendor unless you have done business with them, want free advice ask the members instead.

Actually i just had a question. Being prof is the key. If your rude why would even consider given him my money? I wasnt asking him to do anything just asked if he came across something before. If i wanted him to do something of course i would expect a charge. But when there is a question there is no need to be rude. Everyone on here is a resource to help eachother. If i asked him to write a tune or fix something that would be a different story but a simple hey have you run across this before shouldnt be responding rudely.

I've seen plenty of bad press about Visconti, but I'm inclined to agree with the above comments. As a business person you reach a point where you've had enough answering questions/doing stuff for free for people who have no inclination to spend money with your business. Sometimes you do things to promote your business, but eventually you could be spending time earning money from paying customers. Perhaps he had one of those days and you were the straw that broke the camels back? I wouldn't be too quick to judge.

Again though, don't forget that you went with a local option after you spoke to him (that's how I read your post anyways). Buy from whoever will support you but you can't expect a business to support people who buy the same product from others. Many businesses will, but it shouldn't be an expectation.

If I bugged CSGMike (picking on him since he thanked my post) about suspension tuning, coilover choice, etc then bought it from RandomVendorGuy I wouldn't expect Mike to even answer any further questions from me.... if the support was key to the purchasing decision I would have made a different choice. Use your local tuner for support of the product they sold you.

Customer service with a smile is not really @Visconti 's strong suit. I have found him to both be very helpful, and very short at times. My guess is that you contacted both Visconti and @Circuit Motorsports and you decided to go with @Circuit Motorsports because they are "local". You are now not happy with the results, so you are asking John for help. I can tell you that I had a similar experience, and John was not eager to help me help Toni @ FA20Club make my tune better as far as drivablility was concerned. @Sportsguy83 has had similar experiences. If you need any tuning questions answered, then my recommendation is to ask the members of the forum who do not run businesses and are purely here to help like myself or @jamesm.

Actually wasnt even a tuning question was just wondering if he saw an maf fail before and if this trouble code could be that since i had his number. No tuning questions at all. I get customer service isnt his strong point. I would have taken something less rude of a response rather than what i got is all im saying. If he didnt want tongive his opinion there are much better ways to say it rather than how he did. I can see why people dont like going to him when they do buy products is all im saying. Would you rather have someone say hey dont bother me cause you didnt give me money or. Hey man i cant give you advise on that because ive not run into it before. Which would you possibly purchase from later down the road or continue doing business with, a or b phases?

I've met John in person and you really never know what John you will get. This is known to anyone who has dealt with him.. it's not just an online thing. I've seen him go from super patient and nice to a bit odd and frustrated/angry in seconds. It's of course going to be worse when someone goes to a competitor.. he did the above in front of a paying customer. I think he just needed food or something lol

FWIW we wouldn't have free end-user tuning on Ecutek if it weren't for John Visconti, from what i hear. Not saying he's a nice guy or anything, he certainly comes off as an asshole, but he did give us that much.

....Errr, So you asked someone a question related to troubleshooting you car, when you don't have his tune and weren't intending to purchase his tune.

Sure customer service is not Visconti's strong suit, but it's like calling an internet provider who you don't pay and asking them to troubleshooting an error on your PC.

why have you not asked support from circuit motorsport for your issues? and if you did and you are not happy with it, why have you not made a thread about that?

Instead, you expect someone else to give you customer support due to some false sense of entitlement and then make a thread on it? That is totally illogical...
