Accessory drive system arrived today.
Chevrolet performance ctsv accessory drive system # 19155066 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/n...5066/overview/ This kit comes with everything, accessories, mounting brackets and bolts. I couldn’t find it without the power steering parts so just left them out and @DustinS pointed me to the correct, shorter belt (dacco # 5060560 56” belt) and ribbed pulley (dacco #49021 https://www.summitracing.com/parts/n...5066/overview/ ) needed to delete the power steering components. Swapped in the ribbed pulley, has to take the sleeve from the smooth pulley, grind it down and shim the ribbed pulley out with a couple washers to get it lined up correctly too. I also found that there are very few driving videos of these swaps. Looking for some in-car narration!

Did a lot of clearanceing today
Pounded in the driver side firewall Also moved the brass brake line splitter up and away from where the exhaust will go. You can see where the lines where in the pictures above. Opened up the shifter hole too Pulled all the radiator stuff and I started planning the air intake. I want the air to come from the front....I think I can work with the available room. Yanked the foam bumper pad from inbetween the bumper and the crash bar Thanks again to @DustinS for all the tips |

Your attention to detail is impressive (well ... budget too). I can't wait to see your car running.

had to see how it all fits so today I did the mounts.
Loosely put the motor mounts in Then the motor Shot of the back of the motor Even though I beat the tunnel pretty good the transmission still didn’t fit...had to beat it some more Actually beat it in all the way to the top for the reverse lock out solenoid Passenger side Looks like enough room behind the intake Hood closes, but it’s close Moving quick! I’m gonna get stalled out waiting for those headers though. Pretty happy with the engine and transmission mount kit. Fit really well and clean with good clearance for the AC and heater lines. Good job Vorshlag! |

Took the transmission out to clearance a bit more and seal up some holes.
There was some tension on the bolts for the transmission mount. With all the side bracket bolts tight, the mount pulled the tunnel together a bit and when the bolts came out it opened back up throwing off the bolt hole alignment. I couldn’t get the bolts that hold mount bracket together back in. Took some turnbuckles and pulled the tunnel together some and got the holes close, then slotted the holes on the bracket 1/8” on either side which was enough to be able to easily install the bolts Currently, I’m able to get the transmission in and out with the engine in place...however I do not have the clutch installed. Once the clutch is in and attached to the engine I’m pretty sure installing the transmission is going to be impossible. It’s looking like the engine will have to be lifted and moved forward from the engine mounts to allow enough room to mate the transmission to it. Clutch should be here soon and we can find out. |
