So the airbag from steering wheel still works after the resistor trick? Sorry, couldn't find a clear answer.

I'd believe so, or else the light would stay on.

what do you mean by it not working?

sorry for bumping an old thread but i still had some questions and figured this is better than a new thread...

after a few hours of searching in this forum, as well as others online, im just curious as to all the types of issues some people are having still. looks like this resistor trick works for the majority, but there are still some with issues and in case i have the same issues i just wanna be prepared when i do mine lol.

thanks

Seat base finally came in and I was able to do the switch over today. 3.3 Ohms 1 Watt resistor worked like a charm. Make sure you have the right colors on your resistor to ensure that you aren't using a 33 or a 330 or a 3300 or a... you get the picture.

Here's a diagram below: You will be using a 4 band resistor colored Orange Orange Gold Gold.

Awesome. Thanks for the super clear pic!! In your pic it doesn't look like there are 4 holes as mentioned in the OP. But it still does look like they're both in the same position at the bottom of the plug. I'm finally getting my new seat tomorrow and I already have the correct resistor, so I guess I'll see for myself next week when I install.

What are you doing to keep the resistor in place in the plug? Just covering it up with electric tape?

Thanks again for the great info and pic again! Much appreciated!

just to add to the thread for anyone in the future that comes across this, i did the resistor mod over the weekend and no airbag light!

i also transferred over the stock seatbelt buckle with cable from my stock seat to my new seat and no seatbelt warning/light either. not sure how/why some people are getting a seatbelt warning - when taking off the stock buckle, you have to transfer the cable with it, no? i just unclipped the cable from its holders and unbolted the buckle, then just transferred everything over. plugged the connector back up and everything is "normal" again.

Just installed my bride stradia seats this weeekend. Need to get those resistors for the driver and passenger seats. From browsing this thread the only way to get rid of the passenger airbag is removing OEM seat sensor and reinstall. Any other methods to get the passenger seatbelt/airbag light turned off?

yeah..this trick isn't working for me....I've tried multiple times but still have the airbag light on my dash. I took a multimeter and the resistor even read 1 w, so it's working properly.
