Due to the fact that they have a separate step for "machine buffing" and "machine polishing," I'm fairly sure their "machine polishing" is just a machine application of a sealant that has "polish" in the name. For example, Zaino Z2, while a great product, is a non-abrasive sealant that is labeled as "Show Car Polish." It doesn't polish anything.

Their gimmicky names for each level and the fact that they don't even mention "paint correction" anywhere on the page would make me find another detailer.

edit: Their yelp reviews and photos look like they do decent work though. I'd just ask them whether "machine polish" is actually a polish or just sealant application. There is no such thing as a polish for black paint, because you're only cutting clear coat. However, there are certain sealants/waxes that are formulated with colors in mind.

Also, no sealant will hide the metallic flake in your Raven paint. Again, you have a clear coat on top of the raven paint. The only differences in waxes/sealants are how they look on top of the clear coat. Some have a more "wet" look like the paint has a sheet of water on top, and others have more of a "mirror" finish where it's just pure reflection. Lighter colors and reds tend to look better with a "wet" look type of sealant since there isn't much reflection to be had on a lighter color anyway. Black looks great with a mirror finish sealant like Zaino (what I use on the AMG, and the FRS simply because I haven't bothered to buy another product for the FRS yet.)

There are also black specific sealants like Blackfire Blackice that uses a certain wax that makes the paint look darker/wetter. The sealant/wax itself is black, so it probably would make a lighter color car slightly hazy/duller than a clear wax.

@jarviz I'd inquire to what their specific "Black Polish" product is. It doesn't cost any more than their normal machine polishing or compounding package.

Its purely marketing don't fall for the BS. Your adding wax or polishing your clear coat only, nothing comes in contact with the actual color coat, so it does not matter what color the car or wax is, these companies are trying to market products to general consumers. And I sort of find it hard to get past any respectable detailer offering products for different colored cars, its so gimmicky. Might want to make sure your cars in the right hands is all...

Um.. did you read that there's no price difference? so it's not like they are making extra money by offering this service. It just seems like they use a different wax/polish/shine or whatever it is for black cars, to give it that extra pop. I was just asking if it would do more harm than good though.

I understand that, however there is no extra "pop" that is what I am trying to say, its marketing, you could use 10 different product or combos of products and neither of us would be able to tell a difference. Wax is sub-micron range in depth and it sits on the clear it does not matter what color the car is 99% of the look comes from proper prep work. My point is that proper decontamination and polishing will make ANY car look great, and improve the clarity and gloss. I can not imagine it would hurt anything per say as whatever they use sits on the clear coat and does not penetrate the base layer of color.
