Sadly, you know this is like asking for fake engine sounds to get piped through the audio. But, I do understand that not everyone on here is open to exhaust upgrades. My WRX suffered the fate of being too quiet inside the cabin. Less sound proofing is a tough scratch to itch while appealing to the masses in stock form.

It's hard to picture what they'd do for a Gen 2 86. Trying to think in terms of the Miata and NSX where the changes were different, but not redefining the original. I suspect if lack of power is what held potential customers back in the past, maybe they'll offer a bigger NA motor. I don't see them going the "ecoboost" route of smaller engine with turbo. Not to mention, there's already a healthy aftermarket for these kinds of solutions.

Delete sound tube

All electric option with all wheel drive and 600 mile range.

That covers it.
Forgot something:

Get a head unit with real knobs and buttons and bring back the plain steering wheel

Shoulder belts should be repositioned so they don’t rub my neck.

That about does it.

I hope the car stays:

1) Lightweight/small - Please keep it close to the same weight
2) Good looking - please don't make it look like a prius. (Toyota I'm talking to you! - SUBARU, the new BRZ looks Perfect, Keep it up!)
3) In the same price range - We don't need a $35k base price

There are plenty of cars for people that want a bigger car. (Or more expensive)

I can't stress enough how much I feel the last point is super important. I wouldn't own my car if it cost much more new. I didn't want another 7 year loan, like I had on my truck.

I am really excited to see a resurgence in activity on this forum!

They planned how many they were going to make and sold all of them so even if some people did not buy because of "lack of power" Toyota didn't really care. As long as they were not taking back unsold ones and crushing them they are fine with the plan and sales numbers.
They were never looking to sell Camry or Corolla numbers right from the start so doubt they are looking to boost those sales now. If they are indeed looking to sell these in huge numbers than we can all just kiss the next gen goodbye since it would be so general driver focused it will have little resemblance to anything there is now.

I'm not asking for something fake. I've watched many after market exhaust videos that sounds better. I think the engineers that made this car this good can do that too, if they want to.

Problem is the majority of owners don't want to hear the exhaust.

I would disagree with you. As much as it seems like people on this forum are the majority we are actually a small sub group. Those that want loud exhausts are even a smaller sub group. I chat with my dealer sales manager on a regular basis and he says the vast majority that buy these cars NEW are just normal people including about 40% older women. Of the 30 or so I have seen in the wild I would bet 80% had stock exhausts on them. We are deceived as to what the demographic of the new car buyers are from the generally younger and mod crazy people on this forum or who gather for meets.
Now if you want to talk people that bought used (who have no say in what the stock features are) then all bets are off and you are correct.

No new data but the older stuff supports what he says.

I didn't expect to be in a position to defend "exhaust sound is a nice thing" in the forum of this car.
