im more interested in track event :P but in terms of quality of the event, any thoughts?

im sure a number of us from NorCal would come down but its a bump to have to choose rather than being together...
think ft86nation is not happening, might out of date or slowly updating, yesterday it was showing 2014 stuff but now it says coming 2015... so who knows, also no open registration for events.

I'm still hesitant to sign up for 86fest after reading about all the issues last year, poor organization is a huge pet peeve.

10$ parking $20 admission
no free rattle tickets for buying ticket at the entrance - the guys at 86Fest booths had me buy some rattle tickets, which i didn't use (prizes include license plate frame and keychains at some booths WTF) Decided to leave at 1:00pm
ALL in $40 to come and look at cool cars. I would say this year is a complete FAIL EVENT...............

Is there any animosity in real life about the FRS/BRZ from AE86 owners? I saw this on Instagram earlier.

I posted here a year ago as I noticed this event was a fail as general admission. A year later I gave turn14 and motor mavens another chance to redeem themselves. new venue. new year, I thought surely things would be more organized and that buying a car show admission I would be taken care of. I was wrong. The admission was again lack luster at best (my ticket never got checked). The "first come first serve" goodie bag consisted of a sample bottle of meguiars body shine and a red shop rag screen printed with all of the 86 fest sponsors and 1 small 86 fest sticker, additional 86fest stickers could be bought @ 3 for $5. They originally only gave me 3 raffle tickets when I confronted the 86fest booth workers about getting 10 tickets they had no clue and basically told me to kick rocks with my 3 tickets they literally asked me "where does it say that?" I replied.. "your website". The "judged car show" was a joke, no judges ever came around, and no one from staff ever gave identification to the cars who were actually in the show and the cars that paid $10 to park next to the show. And the icing on the cake for me was the announcers and staff telling people in the show parking area they were not allowed to leave they had to stay till 6pm and to turn off their cars if idling for AC comfort since the event did not provide any shade, another complaint from last year. additionally I heard there was only 2 or 3 food vendors, wasn't that another complaint from last year? I am sorry but I literally threw away $35 for a "car show" parking spot, got a couple pieces of crap and wasted a better part of my sunday morning waiting in the car show queue when I could have been sleeping and paid $10 to come late and still park with the car show. /end rant sorry but this was a disappointment am I the only one that thinks that?

*EDIT oh and seeing the instagram tag above from the ae86ers really solidifies that this event is crap, there was like what 30 total ae86's at the event if that? and probably over 150 FRS/BRZs. so their little "ae86fest" would not be half as big as it is without any of the FRS/BRZ community support.

I went to subiefest but not 86fest just because of the track day. Use to go to subiefest every year since 2010, but car shows are plain boring to me.

You guys have to remember that this is an event, the people planning it want to turn a profit. This year was not amazing but a learning experience, the old venue was snaked from under there feet and they had to improvise with the time they had. As far as prizes go there was: an injen intake, greddy intake, buddy club exhaust, 1000 off of a turbo kit, 500 off a turbo kit, free full tune, 2 free front lips, a radiator, lower control arms, and a bunch of free backpacks. All in all it was a 90 degree standing fest, but what I got out of it was that the little community that started on the forums and a decent amount of manufacturers has grown to a big family that enjoys cars and hanging out. Just appreciate all the hard work and prep put into this event to make it happen.
