http://www.topspeed.com/cars/mazda/2...-ar101489.html EDIT - I fucked up. Kept reading andd "As of August 2012, an unnamed source has stated that Mazda has chosen an engine already and it is a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder. It pumps out a healthy 200 horsepower, which is 22 horsepower more than the 2004 and 2005 Mazdaspeed MX-5 produced and 33 horsepower more than the current model" Quote:

I don't really like to post memes, but the front fascia genuinely brought this image to mind:

Mazda press release states they shaved 220lbs off the NC. Wider, lower, stiffer, lighter. This car looks great too and should be a blast! Can't wait for more info.

Headlights are too small and sunken for my tastes and the rear looks like a z4 bmw. Not that I'm in the market for a roadster but I was hoping they would challenge the last S2k. 155hp 13:1 cr ain't cutting it mazda.

155hp? Mazda has iirc two skyactiv engines that would work, one 150 and one 180, but they're reportedly doing a whole new one for this car and have said something like "Americans wouldn't settle for less power." So I'm guessing/hoping 180 at least. Which is pretty damn decent in a 2200lb car. Add boost to 250 hp and you're looking at mustang gt power:weight about.

Car looks nice especially the rear. Still think the front bumper looks weird, but aftermarket will fix that right up. Safe to say that's the sharpest looking miata yet.

With weight that low it will be interesting to see what level of power Mazda thinks is satisfactory... |
