Looking for new summer tires, but don't want to add too much grip

I'm looking for the the possible alternatives to the OEM all seasons my FR-S was fitted with. I have dedicated set of winter wheels and tires so there's quite a bit of freedom. At the same time three things are important to me.

1. Gas Mileage
2. Keeping the "interesting" dynamics of this car intact. If I add too much grip, the car won't oversteer as easily as it does now (something I like).
3. Keeping the stock OEM Wheel fitment (size, width and offset)

Are these choices a good balance of grip and low rolling resistance? Are there other tires I should consider?

That's it, compare the weight of them to the others. they are almost always a few pounds lighter than other tires i've looked at.

Good Catch!

ExtremeContact DW = 20lbs
g-Force Sport COMP-2 = 22lbs
Potenza RE760 Sport = 24lbs

Ok, do you know why the others are heavier?

I'll sell you my stockers!

Tires vary based on construction and size. One company's 215/45/17 is not another company's 215/45/17.

Hankook V12 is a good tire to keep the car slippery and fun. Cheap too!

Thanks for the offer but i just recently bought what i needed to I'm researching now for next seasons tire purchase.

Is there a tire you like to use?

The reason I'm asking this question is because I know if I put a set of RE-11's (my usual fallback) on this car it's going to spoil the fun. Those tires won't let go for anything.

Expensive tire for me. I'm going to use BFG KDW2 in 225/45/17 flavor that I have left over from the WRX. Not the grippiest, but good performance in the wet...which is a concern I have for summer tires (especially given how wet this summer was).

You might want to look into the Dunlop Direzza DZ101, which reportedly is much less sticky that Star Specs. Discussion in this thread:

I would probably just keep the stockers unless you're in need of new tires if those are your only goals. Aside from road noise, these seem to be good at keeping things interesting.

Personally, I like the Conti's extreme contacts out of the ones listed. I want to try out a set of Hankook Ventus R-S3's when I get my next wheels.
