I just realized that I didn't post the weight's for our 14.9 and 14.7 run in this thread

I posted them in the engine mod section, on our stock dyno thread that got updated with the timeslips,

Here they are again:

Here are the corner weights for the two types of runs (full weight / minor weight reduction)

rear seats removed, spare tire / jack / tools / floor mats removed, with 1/4 tank of fuel:

+/- 2% accuracy

vehicle weight: 2652.21 lbs - 2852 with driver

Passenger side | Driver side
Front : 775lbs 29.2% | 746lbs 28.1%
Rear: 555lbs 20.9% | 573lbs 21.6%

No weight reduction, 1/4 tank of fuel:

+/- 2% accuracy

vehicle weight: 2722 lbs 2922 with driver

Passenger side | Driver side
Front: 789lbs 29.0% | 734lbs 27.0%
Rear: 597lbs 21.9% | 597lbs 21.9%

Were you going around the water box, or at least doing a small burn out to get the water off the tires and to heat them up?

We have abused the heck out of our clutch, at least 40 drag launches with slip dump combo's and its still working like a champ. This was in 90* heat mind you and it didn't slip or fade at all. We were suprised by how well the stock clutch held up.

On a cool day, (50-60*F) with some lightweight rear wheels & DR's with some decent weight reduction (250 lbs) I can see doing 13.9 with no power mods.

You have to remember that the mag's are getting 94 mph 1/4 traps (motor trend got 94 mph with a brz and fr-s full weight) but at a similar ET to ours (14.9)

This can be a few factors - fully broken in motor on full synthetic oil, climate (CA cool temps vs texas heat & humidity)

Point being if they get 94 mph with full weight in simmilar conditions I should be able to get 94mph in full weight.
Then factor in the 250 lbs weight reduction adding a solid 3mph. I can see 97 mph with a 250 lb lighter car.
Then factor in a 1.9 60' and slightly better acceleration from a smaller / lighter wheel & drag tire combo and you are looking at a 98-99 mph trap with zero power mods.
A 99 mph trap with a 1.9 60' and a 2400 lb car is good for a 13.9.

Of course this car wasn't built for drag racing, so its kind of sacrilegious to try to get a 13 sec n/a 1/4 mile time by prepping it specifically for drag racing.

I imagine most folks here would rather see a decent laptime at a well known road course

I was skipping the water box. Do you think next time I should hit the water box? I think I'll slip the clutch and blip the throttle if that's the case

We cant skip the water box at Lonestar, so we did a full throttle clutch dump and accelerated / spun for a second or three then coasted up to the staging beam.

I have the same problem at ATCO. You have to drive through the water. Not a big deal for a RWD / FWD car but sucks for the AWD car.

I can just put the dccd into full rear (65% rear torque split) on my Sti, and break just the rear tires loose and get a decent burnout.

Attempting to do the same in auto or any other torque split besides full rear will cause the fronts to engage when the rear's break loose and yank the car forward, putting some narly shock load on the drivetrain.

I also launch the Sti in dccd full rear and average 1.6 60' with a best of 1.613.

Not bad. The 60' times seem power limited if you're getting that with an aggressive slip. The car might go 14.5 stock with a better DA.

My friend and I went to Orlando Speed World Dragway today and it was really fun. This was the 4th run I did with him. My first was 16.08, then 15.9,15.7 then I changed it up alittle and ran a 15.2.

I took out the spare tire and tools in the back but that's it.

It's weird to see like a 2.2 60' time from a Subaru... If you had the same 60' as the original poster, the 2.0x you probably would have been in 14s. How hot/humid was it at that track?

It was about 88-90 degrees plus little to no wind factor.

Stock and Mildly Modified Naturally Aspirated Engines
14.905 @ 90.943 MPH

Based off of Drag times beta testing DA calculator. So you are right on point with what the car should be running.

We are at 2800 miles now and yesterday we did another dyno after changing the oil and we have picked up another 5 WHP and more than 5 ft lbs torque pretty much across the board. I imagine that 14.8 full interior would be quite doable if the temps were halfway decent - maybe even 14.7 if it cooled down enough. Unfortunately we aren't likely to see cool temps here until October / November.

15.5 under 96 degrees outside, humid as hell, launching at 4.5k and 3.5k.

This day modded Boss 302 was running 12.0, and a modded GTR was at 11.3. So the track here is pretty shitty. I know theres room for a high 14s.
