After reading through his previous posts... I believe his 812 ECU failed on him...

Dropped my BRZ off at the dealership last Saturday, 11/10, and my service rep said that he would get back to me with an update today.
A few hours ago I got a call saying that the car won't be ready until the first week of December. Is that the typical wait time for a new ECU? |

I asked Toyota Canada for compensation because of the ongoing issues I had with the car and that I traded it back for another Toyota at a loss. Heck, I'd settle for anything like extended warranty on my new 4Runner or some basic token as a sign of good faith for the headache the car was. Plus I bought yet another new Toyota.
They didn't have the decency to bother responding at all. No, they don't have to do anything, I realize that. But still it would have been nice to know they actually cared. Rob |

Another Update, service manager from my dealership called this past Friday (09NOV12), stated the parts needed would take four days, car should be ready by end of this week.
After my second ECU failed they contacted Toyota and they advised I would need another new ECU and VVTi. Well, my service contact at Scion of America called yesterday. Stated at least a two week wait time for parts and service. Looking at after Thanksgiving until car is ready. Interesting note, I had a pretty lengthy conversation with the contact at SOA. I asked him if they were aware of the issue, and he stated they were and they estimate 5% of vehicles are affected. I thought it was interesting that he admitted there is an issue and even said the whole 5% thing. Also, brought up that most of the calls they get about the issue mention our forum. Anyways, just wanted to give the update. I hope to jeebus this latest fix works, if not I will be exercising my lemmon law rights. |

Mine just turned on today. Anyone have any good service experiences in south east PA?
CEL/No slip and RPM fluctuations before that. 1050 miles, just out of break in(which was followed to the letter). 6034XX

Anyone else experiencing weird RPM flutuations, with no CELL/SL? Car seemed fine after VVTI change, but now that's colder, the RPM seem to dip from 650 to 500, back above 650, to 500 again etc. It only happens when the engine is not up to temp (cold) and when coming to a stop/at a stop. It shakes not as bad as before when CELL/SL came on, but it worries me nonetheless. I'm going to try and capture this on video.

Yes that would be the alternator kicking on and off.
