Lowering my 86
Hey guys, I was looking to lower my 86 about 1 inch and I've been doing some research online as well as this forum and I am still a little confused as to what would be the best option for me without drastically affecting the way my car handles and other aspects that it will affect.
Has anyone got any tips and/or the best solution to what I am wanting to achieve. Thanks in advance Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Also depends on how much cash you want to spend. For around $400 + install you can throw on the Eibach ProKit, or could can spend $2K for a set of coilovers such as Shockworks which are amazing I hear.

That's what i was thinking, the Eibach ProKit than consider the coilovers later on down the track.
But i think depending on the financial situation when it comes time to lowering i'll decide which to go for. Thanks bud |

Have taken that into account, its getting more and more likely that I will save up and just get a set of coilovers.

The eibach pro kit springs are very good for daily driving as it retains much of the factory NVH levels. Just a tad firmer but that's to be expected. Pretty affordable too.
With coilovers it's basically a case of the "sky's the limit". Some around $1k and others around $10k or more. Comes down to personal preference and budget. |

In Australia B8s and RCE yellows/tarmacs will cost the same if not more(after shipping etc) as MCA Blues. Don't get me wrong The B8s and RCE stuff are good, but the bang for bucks equation is different here. |

B8 dampers + springs are more expensive than B14 coilovers after factoring in shipping to Australia. In fact the MCA blue is roughly same price as B14....unless you choose to buy your B14 from Bilstein Australia which will be close to $2k.
Can't go wrong with MCA they're good stuff with excellent local support. |

MCA Blues are made on the Sunshine Coast. From what I've heard, they're pretty good for the money. Also heard that about Shockworks (from the Victorians, of course).
If low is all you care about, Import Monster in Melbourne were organising something with D2 coilovers. |

I fitted Tein Coilovers to the wifes and they are bloody great. On soft the ride is similar to stock and on hard it rocks on the track, we do a track day every month or two. You can also set the height, I only went down 15mm due to the speed humps in her city commute.
