There's one in the DIY section. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ht=final+drive

All the pics are dead now though.

Hi ya Gio_reyes and welcome.

My short answer is to suggest you take it to a shop that knows how to do it, has the tools and shims and won't screw it up.

See how easy that is ......

A buddy and I swapped his ratio for a 4.88 using the DIY thread and a copy of the factory manual on hand.

It took the two of us (paranoid, but mechanically adept engineers) lots of time, shims, tools, checking, re-checking, re-work, pressing things on and off, and patience to get it all done and buttoned up and correct.

You can do it, just take your time, measure everything, and have a proper hydraulic press handy!

There are plenty of instances when I thought, after spending hours on something that I should have gone to a shop to do it. And in the case of the final drive change, i did! I don't think I would have the time, the patience, tools and most likely the knowledge to do it.
A shop would charge between 300-500 AUD to do it properly here.

Or you can simply search online and see who is selling one that has already been done. I went crazy with mine (micropolished, Supra bearings, etc.)

Patience, the right tools and the right manual is what you need. Make sure you get a press and a dial in-lb torque wrench and be ready for your car to be down for a while, unless you pick up a spare carrier to work with.

There's links out there for service manuals as well.

Possible with patience, the side shims are also not included in any kit I know of. About $8 a piece.

This is the service manual for MK3 Supra, rear diff is the same.

If you buy the Ring and Pinion from Weir they have a good install kit. There solid pinion spacer may take a little more time, but it takes the guess work out of crush sleeves.

Tell us how was it. Cost of labor, the time, etc.
