I am of that very special Canadian generation that spent much of our youth using Imperial measurements and then the later part using Metric so I am ambimeasurementous.

Wait, so Canada used to use Imperial and changed? So there is hope for the US too?


It was dumb reading my manual to see the coolant capacity in liters and then having to convert since they sell it by the gallon

Yep. Officially changed in 1970 but took about 10 years to actually roll out.
Litres (note you guys can't even spell the word right at this point) is the easiest of all to convert. Since a litre is 1.05 quarts just call it a quart and be done with it. The .05 difference isn't going to mean a thing.
