Thanks PPI on Wed. We'll see how it goes.
I already know I'll miss the BRZ, but the addiction to a carrera dates back to when I was about 5 and the bad guys were driving them in movies.

Given the choice, I would've taken the 911. But finding one in my town in that condition would be impossible :p

Nothing wrong with that move. Let us know how it goes.

On the subject of upgraded compressor wheels, my initial googling suggests there are commercially available parts for other cars/turbos. On the Phantom, is the mounting of the compressor wheel to the motor in the assembly different than on a regular old turbo? I've never taken one apart myself so I have no reference point.

I'm just curious if we have the potential for experimentation with different types of wheels or if custom machining is required every time.

Curious as well!

Here's mine
http://shapeways.com

also, i've heard nothing but good things about http://www.quickparts.3dsystems.com/ but have never used them.

I know this isn't what you meant, but the output from Shapeways is almost guaranteed to be better than someone's home printed setup. Costs are relatively low and they have several materials to choose from. You can order sample materials as well.

I have, I'm a mechanical engineer and use them often, there good. Firstcut is good too if you rather have it machined.

I do have my own Objet 50 in my office though

I printed this GT28 compressor on the Objet which is .003" accurate, UV cure...pretty damn cool if you ask me!

Now I'm curious if there are plastics available in 3D-printing-land that would hold up for compressor wheel use in the Phantom.

Only a 4 speed manual? If you lift your right foot even slightly in a corner, you'll experience lift-off oversteer like you won't believe. In terms of sudden-death excitement this is a step up, but in terms of daily driver comfort it's a big step down. I think you're going to be sorry you sold the BRZ.

5 speed and a gas tank big enough to drive from AZ to CA and back no problem.
It's definitely less comfortable, but definitely more visceral and has more personality.
I'll regret parts of the move and love parts of it. Such is life.

We'll see. It may not work out anyway. I did drive it around all last night and I love it. Lift off under-steer is = just commit, never lift off in a corner even if you are going too fast.

I also got this model of Procede. Judging by Sojhinn's install video, the two green wires hook up to the ECU, the metal loop is the ground, the serial connection is for laptop hookup and the red wire is power. This leaves me with one problem:

How am I to connect my Procede with my ESC controller? After all, the wiring that connects my ESC controller to my throttle switch doesn't have an audio jack (I have a recent v2 kit). When I asked Fenton about this he said the new kits have different connections that should hook right up to the
Procede. But how? It looks like the only option is to have a male audio jack that would hook up to the black female audio port seen in the picture.

Any thoughts @fenton @Sojhinn ?
