Well its a small displacement, and I doubt it'll be able to flow as much as my K20Z3, so I'm going to say one of the new Garrett GTX2863s would be perfect for someone that wants minimal lag and could produce mid 300s with the right supporting mods.

I thought you guys are treat people gently like EVO and STi tunners did. But it seems not.
Dude, don't let people get to you... Hell I don't do clutches in cars and stuff cuz I don't want to. I just do bolt on stuff cuz I was a mechanic back in the day, I'm over it and don't want to do it anymore. I'll let someone else do a clutch, but I'll build a turbo kit.

Good news for you and me and all the rest of us... if you want to get 300whp with that compression, it will be really easy with only like 8 psi or so, run meth/h2o injection or Ethanol with that turbo kit and you can get to over 300whp I'm guessing.

HOT DAMN! 12.5:1 compression, 0.27 CoeF, square bore x stroke!

I cant seem much room for forced induction on stock internals.
WoW, increasing the stroke increases the compression ratio because you are packing more air into the same combustion chamber. Maybe you mean a shorter rod?

Forged lower compression pistons would be the best way if you wanted a mid-high boost engine. But enough turbo talk.

Thanks so much Hachi and Aki!

I'm really hoping for a rotrex s/c kit, the instant boost of a supercharge is perfect for road racing.

I had a custom turbo build on my Si, 478whp was useless in a FWD car, I pulled it all off less than 2 months later and went supercharger, now making 320 the car is wayy more manageable and still very quick. Dave saw my Si on the track

True but I'm not really talking about a $25k drag motor... I still want this to work on the street

Hmmm well I'm going to drag race mine... and road course, and auto-x, and embarrass people on the road...

I was also thinking the new B/W EFR turbo might work well. They are twin scroll turbos and they spool remarkably quick and spool efficiently in the top end as well. The biggest thing for me is finding a turbo that will spool by 3500-4000rpm but also flow well enough to not choke the motor at 7k +

You can always do an engine swap...wait to see what Subaru does with the engines in the new 2013/14 WRX and STI....

Its gonna be expensive though...but probably cheaper than trying to get a turbo or supercharger installed in the FRS/BRZ....

Don't sweat it Fred_boosted! They were not laughing at you. Paying $1000 for a clutch is ridiculous! There are countless books and guides for doing this yourself. Tou have to be willing and be fairly competent(mechanically ) and if you are lucky have some help/special tools.

While most of what you said is true. There is one detail of which I disagree.

We get the same RON regular octane as Japan, it's the premium US 93 octane that we only have in certain states that differs since most cars are built to the lowest common denominator, US 91 Octane. I believe the lower compression has more to do with our stricter laws regarding NoX emissions. Ever notice that Honda stopped advertising lean burn?

^These +1. Except the last part, since turboing this engine will depend heavily on the engine structural integrity and available tuning!

I think low boost will be safe either way, if you want more go race fuel.

I agree, race fuel is going to be awesome.. but I'm not going to be running race fuel when I'm commuting to work... Ethanol will allow you to run very similar compression/psi to race fuel. Or that is what I gather from my rudimentary knowledge... Based on what I have seen in the platform I currently drive, E85 is good for up to 40whp more than 91 and race gas is good for about 10-15whp more than E85. C16>E85>91 in my opinion/experience...

All this means nothing if the tuning can't be done on a stand alone or piggy back though.

Most Imports aren't but that doesn't stop anyone from doing it.

Maybe the HP and torque is underrated. We will have to put this baby on the dyno and see...Could be 200 HP to the rear wheels...
