As you mentioned, we're working with Cosworth to get you your instructions as we speak. Regarding the Stage 2.0 calibration files, they are indeed included with the purchase of a Stage 1.0 Power Package. As I mentioned in PM, once you receive your Stage 1.0, you can provide us with the relevant info and then we will send you the appropriate calibration file for your setup. Kit looks beautiful Ernie, keep us posted!

I just checked Cosworth's site again and it plainly says the files are included in the stage 2.0 kit. This issue has me more than reluctant to purchase it even though I have centered my build around a "Cosworth" car.

That looks pretty sweet. I look forward to seeing your build make it on the road. I'd be really curious to see how it compares to my rotrex setup.

As I understand it ...at this time They email the tune to you once you give them your Dongle ID from their tuning kit...the kit with the low temp thermostat and air filter..the stage 2 tune does not physically come with the kit ..The key point being their tune was developed using the low temperature thermostat and their air filter. I assume they do not want to be liable for damage caused by some one using their stage 2 tune on a motor not set up the same as the one they developed the tune for.,,,,, and you know some one would try it. Once again..I am not a Cosworth rep ...it's best to talk to the vendor you are thinking of purchasing the SC from...they will have the latest information. Things are still evolving with this SC kit roll out. Being an early adopter I expected some bumps in the road.

Glad to see that Cosworth has pre-assembled most of the kit for you. Once you have the instructions in hand, it should be an easy and straightforward install. Worth every penny, IMHO.

My guess on the O ring chord is that they want you to cut it and use it as a new seal for the throttle body and intake manifold which each use a similar material in a groove as a seal. The weird part is that neither the TB area or head area on that manifold has grooves for the O ring to go in.

..however having read the RHD fitting instructions (the only ones I have at the moment) there is a lot of moving around of electrical, vacuum ,even a GDI line( aha so that's what the banjo bolt is for) in order to make room for the super charger. and then there are the cooler lines...... this being the RHD version..so a mirror image of what I need to do...I guess

Just food for thought, you should do a DIY on the installation for the Cosworth SC. I think it would be pretty awesome if someone could do that. It would save a lot of money for those of use considering this kit.
BTW, were you going to post any power outputs when you're done? |
