No, I'm saying a Tesla is likely to have a higher residual value than a Prius or other "low end" car. Then again, I'm no lease expert I have only a basic understanding of how a lease works with cars so I could be off base.

Of course, this doesn't work out if Tesla continues to drop their prices. That is a good thing, unless you are funding the leasing of their cars.

Wow. 190 grand for a trailer?

You can get a fairly high-end camper for that price point. Without the need for a tow vehicle.

I mean I get it, it's a high-end product, etc. But that sounds like a great way to make a 50 grand trailer into a 200 grand rig.

I feel like EV's are trying to solve problems that it creates itself......

And thus it solves a problem in one sense but moves the problem somewhere else....

So you can drive your EV, get an EV trailer to help....and if both run out of juice now you have to double your charging to get both charged.....lol
granted your distance is probably doubled as well....or at least increased a good amount.

It is expensive because it is a company that is just getting started with no direct competition and is high end. Prices will drop.

Do you feel that way about everything?

I'm reminded of this video and of the fact that many industries have gone extinct over the centuries because of innovations. The EV market is no different than other periods of rapid change. Where would we be today if we had kept the mentality that horses are better than cars, or that whale fat is better than oil? We are the precipice of rapid change, and people can't see further than five to ten years into the future.

I find your perspective on Tesla's profit analysis and carbon credits quite intriguing. It's a complex issue, and you've raised some valid points. It's true that Tesla's mission is all about sustainable energy, so the carbon credit sales can seem contradictory. But yeah, turning down $1.7 billion isn't easy. I'm actually contemplating getting a Tesla myself, and I recently came across the Tesla Model 3 steering wheel. It's got this super cool design, right? What's your take on it? Anyway, you're spot on about the corporate financial analysis folks doing their best to navigate these challenges.

Reminds me of the Henry Ford quote: “If I would have asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.

A questionable individual, but an interesting line nonetheless.

It certainly makes more sense. However, if you still have to keep your hands on the wheel, I see no real value in the whole system.

A couple weeks ago one of these was parked at my complex under a cover. We have a lot of Tesla employee residents though. Not uncommon at all to see teslas with manufacturers plates parked. It's how I also saw a pre-production Model X Plaid before they were announced.

The other day I saw one of these Cybertrucks drive by as well.

Honestly... not that big on it lol. Reminds me of like a garbage bin mixed with Delorean design lol.
